Good to hear her friends are ok.
I visited your part of the world last month for the first time and had a wonderful visit. It's a shame to think of something like this happening in any city, but especially in one I found so warm, friendly, and welcoming. My thoughts are with you, your fellow Bostonians, and all those visitors who were affected.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Thought I would post this from George Takei's Facebook page as it says a lot.
Btw, George was Mr Sulu from the original Star Trek series for those that don't know.

When tragedies strike, heroes rise to meet the challenge: the first responders seen sprinting toward the blast site, the runners who changed course to run to local hospitals to donate blood, and the fine citizens of Boston who at once opened their homes to marathoners in need of a place to stay. When we come together, we cannot be brought down.

I've heard the same, and I agree with the miracle. They are saying now that three have died, but it could have been much worse. They have also reported that one or two other devices were found that didn't go off. With any event like this, news and hearsay are easily confused and it may take a few days to get the full story out. It's really a sad, murderous attack. The dead are gone from us, but scores have been wounded, many reported to have lost limbs, their suffering will go on for their lifetime. My heart goes out to all those injured and killed. I hope they are able to track down those who made this happen, and from that learn how to try to prevent this from happening again. But, sadly, no amount of understanding will ever prevent those who are determined to do harm to others. I hope we find out what cause or goal was hoped to be attained by the murder of innocents.

last i just heard was 130 injured , 3 killed ... just saw some pics of the scene and an interview with a camera man who said he chose not to record do to limbs and the amount of blood on the ground .. and that all the other items they thought were bombs wernt .. ( we will see in the days to come i imagine )
( news said ) bomb was placed in a garbage can and now people are questioning why a garbage can was there at an end of a race ...sad to say but in this day and age something or anything else of this nature can happen ANYWHERE & ANYTIME ...
on a bright side all the help people provided in this event was outstanding and commendable , apparently the FBI just went through a training workshop( the last couple days ) with race workers , police , and EMT's in case of an event like this happened and id say with the response of people it paid off and probably saved a lot of lives ..Last edited by gooser; 04-16-2013 at 05:21 AM.

Thanked: 485I sort of feel like I want to kill someone, that is, whoever did it. I'm feeling very angry about this, esp about the small child that died. I'm sort of feeling the world is indecent these days. Obscene, indecent and base.
It didn't seem to be that way, then again, maybe I've just finally grown up...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 2027There will be lawsuits, the public will demand more security at a very high cost,I predict this will be the last Boston Marathon.
People are nutz, how in the hell do you secure 26 miles of public streets?
