Thanked: 3223Firstly, my condolences to all who were killed or injured and their relatives.
As for garbage cans at a location where literally thousands will congregate, that is a no no. Years ago we were in Waterloo Station London and had enjoyed some snack foods while waiting for our train. I went to dispose of our garbage and could not find a garbage can. I asked a Bobby why there were no garbage cans to be found and was told "bombs you know". Mind you the Brits have been at this counter terrorist bombing routine quite a bit longer than we have in North America and probably learned the hard way too.

The fact that it was a marathon, a public gathering; no political/military affiliation, no government intervention or sanctioned event. Only people challenging themselves, enjoying themselves, raising money for various charitable organizations. This just makes the whole thing that much more disgusting. We need to find these people and copy cat one of the saw movies w/ them as the stars.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Thanked: 37In relation to what BObH posted:
It was similar in Paris in '95. The public garbage disposals in parks, etc, were sealed shut. There had been bombs in subway stations and you could see military patrols around the monuments. Eventually the perpetrators were caught.
I work at a newspaper, so it was from breaking news to a 16 page print section which closed at 11:30 and updated around 1:00 am.
So sad. My prayers for the victims. I had friends and acquaintances and a nephew who lives there but all were ok.Last edited by vicmaldo; 04-16-2013 at 05:49 PM.

I believe your prediction is wrong.
My plan is to run the New York Marathon this fall, but after this bombing, my mind is set on entering the Boston Marathon as well.
I do not think I am alone in thinking this way.
To me, there is no better way to tell the perps that they have failed in their mission, namely to scare us!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 13245Tragic, what more can be said..
The date alone points a finger toward Domestic Terrorism, rather than outside sources for this cowardly attack.
