I go out for a few hours to shoot the bow & eat; then miss all of this good stuff.

I'm still waiting to see if he, or his mom, ever give an excuse for not returning. I side with Gugi, that the mom was the one carrying the ball & she is the one who dropped it. If I show up with my underage son & solicit work, then the success or failure of that encounter lies with me; even if my son shows and makes a complete a$$ of himself.

I doubt any excuse will do now, over a week has passed by, no apology was given, nor excuse tried, when I stopped by to see all the neighbors on the road this morning to let them know that there is a Mama and Baby Bear in the area, and to be extra careful until she moves on..

They simply said Thank You for the warning,,,

And no we did NOT get a pic of the cub, we turned the ATV's around and went the other way

Western society is rotting from the inside out, but hey, as long as we all stay plugged into our iClones we can drown out the death rattle.

Changing the measure is like sweeping dirt under a carpet. GDP doesn't measure the health of a society. But it seems it's all we care about nowadays.

If you think all of these problems are new or have somehow gotten worse in modern times, read "How the Other Half Lives" by Jacob Riis, accounting the terrible ills, illegal activities, and living conditions of the working poor in New York in 1890. Every generation idolizes the ones who came before, and bemoans the ones after.

It's a wonder that contract law was ever developed, since the breaking of verbal agreements is a phenomenon unique to the youth of today.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I am sure that this has been going on for years, people saying they will do something to get their own way, then not doing it. It may be more prolific but there have always been people with low moral standards. :-)

When he did not show up, she needs to call and explain. For example, she can punish him for not showing but if you do the same you'll probably be in trouble with the law.
Yes that is what I also pointed out in the op..

    This.

Our Grandparents complained about the generation of our parents.
    Our parent about ours.
And I am definitely complaining about the generation of kid below me.

    Not it's not.

People breaking their word has been a thing of all time. Contract law goes back to before the dark ages, and even then plenty of people were as likely to dodge their agreements as today.
