Glen,
The mesquite is nice to work with the only issue was finding a piece without cracks or checking.

Thank you guys for the encouraging words, SRP are full great people.
I am not ready or set up to start selling razors. I really do make most of the parts with hand tools. I have a hobbyist approach to making razors not a business approach. It is really a way to get me off of the couch and relax.
Thanks
Charlie

Beautiful razor, Charlie and outstanding hone job on this nice smiling blade. How does it shave?

The razor is not shave ready yet, it takes me forever and a day to get really smiling blades sharp. I think that it is because such a small portion of the blade is in contact with the hone at a time and the bevel is rather large. Maybe I need to temper the blades at a higher temperature?
The first two frambacks that I made from saw blades shaved well, I am assuming that this one will too once I get it dialed in. I will give an update when I get it working.
I am out of town now, but brought the razor with me to sharpen with in the hotel room hopefully I will get it sharp soon.

I'm curious about the honing. Do you tape the spine? I don't see any wear on it in the photo. I wonder, too, if the mild steel in the frame would wear away quicker on the hones than the steel in the blade?
