if a wedge is a problem, what about a smiling near wedge ??

I wonder where the problem lies for this ???
maybe coz they take time, patience & experience JMO??

I don't know but the newer honing services that pop up often refuse wedges.

I really want to write to the Himage site and tell them it's D. R. Harris NOT Dr Harris....

The usual caveat applies, I don't know if this has been posted before and I have no affiliation with this business.
    Based in Broadbeach/Gold Coast.
Strops, brushes, S.R. pouches, quite exotic.

Hey y'all. It's been a while since I've been on, any reccomendations for getting a good strop? That link above me from Bongo looks great but no cart/purchase options on their site?

A nice 3" wide one would be great...

Sam & Son advertise their strops on the above website.
They have the same photography style so I will assume they are one and the same.
They are "closed at the moment" ....Don't know of another Aussie strop maker.

    Hey all,

After searching fruitlessly in this country for a strop I purchased one from HARRYWALLY, but I went to buy a wallet the other day from a leatherworker in Maitland, turns out he is more than willing to make strops and understands the type of leather and requirements for a strop.

He also said that depending on how much leather you want, he would charge between $60-$80.

I can't vouch for his strops but his wallets are quite good. And I'd have given one a go if I hadn't already purchased one.

Anyway, the place is Dennerley Leather Designs

What kind of honemiester can't hone a wedge... If someone couldn't hone a wedge I'd have to question whether or not I should pay 35 bucks for them to hone my hollow ground. Just my 2 cents.

Back to the main topic. If he does make you a strop we want pix!

Their catalog has a good range of pins stock, G10, as well as W2 flat bar, Satanite and quench oil for the makers amongst us.
