    Default Shaving supplies in Auckland

I'm living in Auckland at the moment and was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere close to go in and talk to a barber or just a good shop for shaving related stuff.

I'm know that house of knives can hone razors does anyone have any experience of how good a job they do?

    Thanks in advance

(Hope NZ is included in down under!)

By Jingos, I don't bloody know about that. Fancy them Kiwi's trying to hi-jack the Aussie thread! Is it not enough that we pay you blokes enough of our taxes in the form of the dole when you're over here, but ya gotta pinch our sub-forum as well?!?!?!

Just having a go at ya of course, and I can't answer your question, but I reckon one of our Un Zud cousins will be along at some point to help you out. They do seem to gravitate to here a bit.

I'm actually half kiwi and half English so I've only been in NZ since January but I know how you Aussies love your nieghbours and vice versa!

    Thanks for the reply

    Watch the language gentleman.

As for the house of knives or anyone claiming they can hone razors, the question to ask them is whether they shave with one. If the answer is no, run away.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

    Welcome to SRP

House of Knives do a good job - they got my grandads old razor back to shave ready.
There's only one guy that does them and he's Auckland based. Should be a faster turn around than is was for me in Wellington.

Scottboness sometimes advertises honing and razors on Trademe.
He's also a member here so you could always PM him about honing and razor chat... Though looking up his profile it looks like he hasn't been active for a while.

Mancave are web-based but have good wet shaving products at a reasonable price and quick service.
Can't remember off-hand if they do any honing.
Don't do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics!

Thanks Fuzzy, very gad to hear House of Knives do a good job as they are about 10 mins from me so I shouldn't be without my razor for long when it needs a touch up!

Mancave looks good thanks for that, they have a lot of stuff out of stock though is that usual for them?

    Thanks for the reply

And accepted as jest by me, but I suppose we must cater for the masses here, and Oz is doing his job by reminding us.
