I can understand bitter being used to describe cold but it doesn't snow when it is bitter cold. Or at least very little.
Snow is a very good insulator. It holds in the warmth or maybe you can think of it another way that it holds out the cold. for example the frost doesn't go as deep into the ground with a layer of snow.
Snow is a very beautiful equalizer. My yard looks as fine as my neighbors with just 1/2 inch.
In my area snow brings people together. After a snow I enjoy seeing my neighbors when we are drawn outside to shovel our walks or to push someone out that is stuck. Snow forts, snowball fights, and sledding are a few other examples of bringing people together.
Just some random pleasant snow thoughts of mine.
I even enjoy the bitter cold for at least part of the year. We don't have as many poisonous bugs etc. as you do!

Thanked: 485Well, you see, that what happens when some jerk from South Australia decides to write a poem about snow....
It's 11 at nights here at the moment (about 20 during the day) and ALREADY I'm complaining about the cold!Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 485Oh that's silly. I can feel my joints freezing up already. 24 and 26 on the weekend which is nice I guess, at least if it's sunny so I can sit on the veranda with a glass of wine and Keats.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 485Fifty Fifty
Fifty Fifty
It’s fifty/fifty hope and fear
Fear and hope
50/50
It always has been and always will be.
That moment of hope and then
Like a bee chasing you
That moment of fear crashing in.
Hope. Trepidation.
fifty/fifty
Always has been always will be
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

It's 17.2 here right now and forecast 8.33 tonight and my wife had me help her open the storm window in the bedroom.
Shut the furnace off so I don't contribute to global warming!
