Thanked: 983Certainly was a factor in the thought process', amongst other things. Some of the things that had a part to play in inspiration in no particular order, Possibles bags as per BP shooting days, 'Relic Hunter' the TV series (they always had a torch in their satchel bags), Indiana Jones, the 19th and early 20th century, 'The Mummy' movies, 'The Librarian' movies, Travel documentaries, my own Adventurous Spirit, The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, and last but not least my need for a new bag.

Thanked: 983Geez you blokes complicate things. Just need to sew (or rivet, or rivet and sew) a tab of leather on the rear corners of the bottom of the bag holding a pair of Dee rings. One strap to travel from one corner, up to, through, and around the Dee already at the top rear of the bag and on down to the opposite corner, where it is held firm alah feeding each end through both dee's and back through one on each side and you have a rucksack with minutely adjustable straps. It crossed my mind to do it .

I've seen those around in one form or another over the years. I've gave thought to making up a seat and a fastening strap of some sort to make it possible to throw one together out of suitable branches when I go bush. That way all I would have to carry is the seat and strap. Makes for compact camping if I could do that.
My talents are limited and my possessions are too, but I thank you most humbly.

I love a nice leather bag. The messenger bags ESP. Not too wide/ long. More map bag style. Much like the recent photos. I don't have one however. They are a joy to view. I'm afraid they would multiply.
