My wife and I used to camp from spring to Fall at least a couple times a month, with kids that has been reduced to almost never.

My buddies and I used to camp and hunt a few times a year for spring and fall hunting. Not so much anymore unless I plan it for them.

My brother and I will get together every other year or so for a backpacking trip.

    Man I miss camping.

Recently bought myself a new 2 man tent, MSR Elixir, which will get its first outing on the weekend of the 23/24 September when I go out of town for a trail run.

Tim you should speak up , not sure when you were there but we wasn't far from there a few days ago, and Paco (Steve) bought a house about 50 miles to the east of you in Russelville Ark. I would have drove over to say hi my friend. Tc

I passed through Russelville last Sunday on my way home from Little Rock. We were going to take a break but then realized it was Sunday and nothing was open.

The plan is to see you and others at Dave's in Racine at the end of the month.

There are old growth cedars along the edge. The average age of the trees is over 300 yrs. There was a bald eagle flying around the valley. It's not often you get to see an eagle from above. Name: IMG_2683.jpg

You camp in places that I only dream about or see on TV.

We were camping in a special area in a state park, on a peninsula in a lake. The land is a mix of Oak savannah and hickory/oak forest. The campsite is walk in or paddle in. There is no hunting in the forest but there were duck hunters in the lake. Turkeys were hanging out in the campsite when we showed up. They took off and flew across the lake. I also saw bald eagles, squirrels, seagulls, and a lot of beaver sign.
