    Not a camping pic but I have camped in these mountains, the Boston Mountains of NW Arkansas. The Boston Mountains are part of the Ozark Mountain range. I'm planning a canoe trip in this area in the fall.

    Aloha!

    One of the "coolest" things I have learned from this forum so far is to use an old pill bottle for traveling with my brush. I traveled for decades with my brush wrapped up in a washcloth. I just never thought about drilling holes in a pill bottle and putting my shaving brush inside. And for camping, especially moto-camping? It's the best.

    One concession I do make when moto-camping is I don't bring either my straight razor or a shavette. It's only a DE razor. I have a nice (smallish) Weishi with a travel case and a mirror in the case that packs very small but shaves well. Perfect for a camper on the go. At least it is for this moto-camper. Again, on a motorcycle, you really have to pack thrifty, small and useful.

    And I put my favorite fragrances/aftershaves in these little travel atomizers;

    Finally, I have a Conk travel airtight soap container for the shaving soap - these are fairly small (probably 1/2 the size of regular soap containers) and are great for traveling light;

    Other than now drying out the tent after the trip it was a great weekend.

    The sun came out about 3/4 of the way home!

    The tent is dry and clothes have been washed. Extra food stashed beck in the refrigerator. LIFE is GOOD!

    Better go downstairs and have a shower and shave to get ready for Monday morning.....

    That's always the case. Once you are heading home, the weather clears.

    Last spring, I bought an amazing tent on Craigslist. A 10' x 14' LL Bean Cabin Tent from about 1980. The thing is a tank. Real canvas roof, ultra thick steel tent poles and very heavy poly walls and a floor that is probably 10 times thicker than anything you'd buy today. Got it for a song. I call it the Taj Mahal of tents. They don't make them like this any longer.

    I pack it up and head for the hills. First night, I'm just enjoying it. All is well. Second night it rains like an animal all night long. Never stopped to think that the heavy canvas roof may have needed some silicone sealer treatment. Leaked bad. Spent most of the night with pots and towels chasing leaks.

    Two cans of 3m silicone fabric sealer and all was well the second night. And later that year, I fashioned a tent fly from poly to cover the roof just to make sure there would never be another leak. The tent fly that I fashioned even extends about 4' past the end so I have dry space to store things outside of the tent.

    Never forgot that night. From now on, any used tent will get a treatment of waterproofing BEFORE I head for the hills.

    A lot of times when u buy a new tent the first down pour you'll get wet also. Gotta give the canvas a quick swell to really seal it up tight. Don't know why when they say water protected they don't tell u to take a garden hose to it before ur first trip. Not every tent is this way but I have run into a few.
