Thanked: 4827Ok, i know this is late but it is the first time i have been home. I am wrong. It is not a Smith and Wesson. I have no idea who it is made by. The last picture is the makers mark. I don't have a camera that can take a picture from close enough to be able to read it, so it is a hand drawn rendition.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 25No pocket 9's here yet! Smallest 9mm is my DW ECO, but it has to go back to DW; constant jams with it after 800+ rds total thru it (went thru the proper break in procedure and flatwire spring is supposed to be good for 15,000 rds). I had a Beretta Tomcat 32 for a while, never warmed up to it, way too small for my paws. S&W Bodyguard, OK, but .380 and a bit small for my hands. Tried out a P238 a few times, very nice .380. Tried the 938 and hated it unfortunately Thinking of a Shield 9mm, PPS 9mm or picking up another Gen 4 G26; sold mine to my dad to help pay for the DW ECO. I prefer 1911's to anything else, but kinda frusturated that the ECO is jamming. I did find my S&W 686+ 3" .357 carries beatifully in shorts and t shirt with a MTR Sentinel holster, so that was my summer carry gun with a couple HKS speedloaders. Surprised at how well/easily it carries despite weighing almost 37oz!
But depending on how the ECO does when it gets back from DW, I may be looking into a small 9mm. Glock is supposed to release a 42 size 9mm early next year at the SHOT show.

Either the S&W Shield or (my preferred choice) Beretta Nano will do exceptionally well as a workaday carry pistol. My Shield is .40 cal. which although it is the same size and close to same weight as the 9mm Shield, the larger caliber makes it a somewhat unpleasant gun to shoot. These days I find myself toting a Ruger SR 1911 or Sig Sauer P229 more often than not. Actually so much depends on the holster. Regardless of the weight and/or size of the weapon, a good holster can make quite a few pistols good candidates for a daily carry weapon.
Alessi, Andrews, Kramer, Sparks, Ritchie, as well as Theis and Malabar Gunleather (news kid on the block)...all make a fine holster for CCW applications. I normally would add Mitch Rosen to that list, but some recent (very cheesy) changes to some of their product design and refusal to do much about it (taking a "too bad, so sad" attitude..don't like it? return it..customer pays shipping both ways..no other option), even though their current catalog shows a completely different product. Otherwise they make decent leather gear as well.
I'd just find the pistol that you like best when it's in your hand. Somebody out there will make you a holster which will fulfill your everyday carry requirements.

After extensive haggleing I'm now the proud owner of a Sig p938 SAS. So far I've put around 200 rounds through it without a hiccup and it's, I believe, ready to carry. I'm not a fan of pocket carry if I can avoid it. Does anyone have a suggestion for a tuckable appendix carry holster?

The Milt Sparks Versa Max seem to be the gold standard, but you will wait for a long time to get one. Tommy Theis makes a neat tuckable Kydex holster for a very fair price and turn around is about a week-10 days or so.

Thanked: 45Crossbreed makes an appendix carry. If it's anything like their supertuk, it'll be a winner.

The best one out there is the one that fits your hand you are comfortable with.
I went with a Sig 398 which is a 380. With the micro length barrels there is almost no difference in the ballistics of a 380 and 9 and the 380 will not buck as hard. For the rest, a short 1911 is nice.

nobody's heard of these?
Sorry I had to use an internet picture, but I sold mine many moons ago,but I am surprised that no one has mentioned this little guy. I'm sorry I sold it but I was offered a quick $500 more than I paid for it. Then I found out why....there hard to come by...at least they were.
P.S. it kicked like a mule, but dissapeared just about anywhere.
