Kroil and CLP are my standard cleaner and lube. Kroil will creep and loosen screws though. That is what it was made for BTW. I like MPRO7 as well. I normally use a one piece rod for long guns and a solid short rod for pistols.

I reality, with todays powders and primers, unless your shooting cast bullits, guns do not have to be cleaned.
Wipe them down with RIG,store them away

My sentiments exactly. It is sort of therapeutic once I get started.

I've been using RIG on guns, and on razors, for 40+ years and it is great stuff for humid climates.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Rig truley is amazing stuff, most of my duck hunting used to be in San Fran bay (Saltwater) and norcal for Brant,(saltwater)
Never an issue with my shotguns heavily coated with rig.

The other upside of rig is do's not move, major mistake people make is to over oil a shot gun or rifle, that store it butt down in a gunsafe or rack.
All that oil migrates into the stock and over time will rot the wood where it meets the reciever.

Don't forget copper fouling with jacketed bullets too.
