Love your 410, John! I still have my H&R! The Rig is excellent stuff. I have an all-stainless shotgun and that is what they recommended. It truly stays where you put it. Ruger even gave a sample with the gun. Bought a jar and am always finding uses for it.
Then, Tuff glide really protects metal and enhances oil put on it, on steel parts. JMO.
One of the best oils I have for older guns is the old gun oil in the green plastic bottle. Army surplus. One bottle left.
Cannot find it anymore. I have been using Lucas gun oil lately and really like it.Last edited by sharptonn; 01-24-2015 at 01:42 AM.

i clean everything at the kitchen table , but store everything in a closet in plastic or metal ammo cans ...i try to wipe everything in the closet down with a oil cloth a couple times a month and my carry pistols get wiped down with the oil cloth 2-3 times a week depending on the weather as it gets humid and hot and sweaty in the summer ... i have a couple of the ottis cleaning kits in "just in case " bags and for pistols i really like those caliber specific kits that come in a handle like a screwdriver and have a brush , cloth holder , and rod inside , i usually keep them in a range bag along with some oil , bore cleaner , and odds and ends and extra ear protection ..

i had a couple bottles of that stuff that my dad had for years that worked well , a couple years ago i bought some from a gun show , it has a distinct smell to it but the newer stuff i bought didnt seem like the same type of oil so i thought maybe someone made there own and put it in those bottles ..
ive been wanting to try this stuff !! (below) i have used the synthetic powder type stuff before and liked it but this stuff in the link is supposed to be awesome
MILITEC-1 - The ONLY all-purpose synthetic metal conditioner and gun oil

Gooser,
I used to use MILITEC on my Shield custom 0.38 Spl PPC revolver & Shield customised Springfield Defender, and it did a very good job. However, I didn't find it very much better than my other oils (FASTEX etc), which were much less expensive and eaiser to get in the UK.
Since they banned cartridge pistols here in the UK, I don't have to worry about cleaning them anymore
Have fun
Best regards
Russ
