Here's just this morning, it's like this almost everyday, we only planted the one cucumber and tomatoe plant this year. Other than the est of our garden stuff, but one seems to be enough with these.

Nice! That's off one cucumber plant? Is that a 'straight eight' or just regular pickling cucumber?

Well my lone Roma Tomato Plant is coming along
Many of them are the same size as the one outlined in Black which is 3 1/2"s Long and about 2 1/2"s across. It will be interesting to see what they weigh when I harvest them.
I also picked 2 1/2#s of strawberries which I rinsed off, stemmed and have frozen. Another couple of days and I should have enough to make more strawberry jamOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

While my son did a decent job of taking care of things here at The Boars Nest, I watered the hell out of my front lawn yesterday and to my surprise the strawberries really matured since yesterday! I now have more than enough for a batch of jam.
So now I'm up to my arse in alligators! I've got 10#'s of cucumbers starting the process to make Benz's mothers special pickles (look and taste like nothing I've ever seen and I don't like pickles or cucumbers) here's a teaser for the pickles---they are in a lime brine as I write:
I also have two pork loins in brine to smoke in a few days and now I'll be making jam in the next day or so. Oh Well! It's all worth the effort! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 227Determined to get my kids growing stuff.
Today we planted a single garlic clove to see how it goes, and some potatoes in a bucket. Small start but let's see. Next plan is a raised bed cor some veg.
Got the first batch of fallers from the apple tree. Nothing huge but all into the box for cider. Another couple of winds and I should have enough for a batch. Hopint to get 2 or three 4.5l demijohns out of the tree this year.
