2 hours since clear was done and things are dry to the light touch already!

Found a couple sags sadly, but they will be removable once everything is cured up.
Happy with how well the heat is helping from the torpedo. And warm enough still outside it’s only coming on hourly.
Should be nice and hard by tomorrow, but still not going to touch anything for a few days now.

Got these sweet little 3m circle sanding bits, as well as 1000 and up to cut things down quickly.

So….how many coats of clear did you put over the panels ?

I always wait a week …with warm temps…before sanding a buffing. Wrap some 600 grit paper on a small square piece of a wooden mixing stick …like 1x1 inch square….then carefully cut down those sags….just sand the sag…until it’s just level with the surrounding clear..take your time. Then go through the progression …just like honing a razor.

I’ve been buffing paint for ovah 45 years…so I’ve seen my fair share of compounds….and so Faah this stuff is by far the best I’ve evah used.

Just 4 dollops will do a 3x3 foot section….more is not better with this stuff…just watch their you tube videos before using it

Used about a gallon.
Worked out to 3 coats more on the pearl, after scuffing, so 6 total, and three wet coats on the green as well.
Why do they say only 2 to 3 coats in the directions, figure they’d say 5-6, as you suggest to sell more product, just curious, I get your layer logic as far as cutting goes.

And will be leaving stuff till after the sheds down to cut snd color, helll might even not be till spring if there is no harm in waiting 6 months from a paint perspective..
Will be leaving the pearled parts off till wiring and working, running car is done, then the fenders can go back on..
They will just get in the way and risk getting scratched before then.

Too bad about that ugly blemish on the middle image! Hope you can buff that out

I think he airbrushed a scary monster mug on there to give it that rat rod look.

All Iam concerned about is how many coats of clear are ontop of the color and Pearl. Because if you sand through that and hit the Pearl or green color …it’s trouble. So…with 3 coats you can flatted out the finish with 800 just until the orange peel is gone…and no more. Then move to 1200….1500…2000. And yes you can buff it next year if you want.
