Thanked: 4206Yeah, another $2k or so in and it’ll be getting harder to ever get my money back, but WTF, if I get more enjoyment out of the drive that’ll be the reward. She really is a hoot to drive now that the suspension is complete.
That work around for the shifter I made works, but looks hacked, and this upgrade fixes that issue as well.
Easier shifts, less than half the clutch peddle movement to work compared to the OEM one, fully synchronized gears, shorter throw, and an entire new gear range to go into.
Hell yeah its a bump I’ll pay for and love all the way round the track..

Sounds like a smart way to finish it off. Good luck on the work. And you should be a pro at popping the powertrain out of it now.
It's just Sharpening, right?

I have only ever sold a car in the black once anyway, at least with hotrods or sports cars. It is very hard to not go upside down with cars unless it is a business and even then it seems like a trick. That being the case I think that performance/enjoyment trumps the bottom line in this case. Of course there has to be a balance so you don't loose your shirt but it seems like you are remaining frugal with it.

Thanked: 4206For those that are still poking in now and then, I’ve been busy before winter sets in trying to finally get the garage back to a workable state.
Still have more to organize but wanted to get noddy in before devil’s night.
New peg board installed and three loads taken to the dump.
My goal now, to get one full set of metric and imperial tools on the board, the rest in the tool box.
Ive got like 4 partial plastic tool packs all laid out to pick and sort through.
Enough room now to pull the engine and transmission out the front, then work on the tranny conversion on the new benches to the right side. Engine rebuild on the stand on the left side.
Busy but satisfying work that.."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206Took me almost a year and a half to get my own done so I don’t think the show would survive a season.
Extreme car make overs however, that’d be a fun show to film."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206A birthday present to myself is on the way, although really it’s for Noddy.
A woodworker and mg enthusiast in the Northern US refurbs original TD wheels that have lost their Bakelite grips into these mahogany works o art.
Have this one arriving this week! Will be such a nice completing piece to finish the car. Never expected to get one, let alone one that will match my interior so well, seemingly..
Complete with matching center hub to boot!
Cheers gents."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4826Nice fashion accessory. Bonus that it matches your interior. I have faith that you could have made one as nice or even nicer, but unlikely as fast or as conveniently.
