Thanked: 4206Rainy night and day today so went at the interior and dash.
Note the additional key switch way up above the steering column, and the non working circular shaped heater and defrost duct work hidden in the rats nest.
All the wiring is being replaced so no need to label stuff."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206And the 30 gallon compressor tends to be pretty loud, so made a silencer box for the working end.
Knocks 30 db off the top, and makes it manageable without hearing protection.
Don’t want to annoy the wife, or the neighbors as the car could be on stilts a while.

Is it one of the 'Oil-less' ones?
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 4206Nope, an old devilbiss single cylinder 5hp thumper.
The whole box pops off for maintenance or gage adjustments."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

When I put the larger air filters on my compressor it quieted it down quite a bit, but it wasn't all that noisy to begin with.

You’ve gone this far.....are you going to lift the body off the frame ? Then you can get a good look at your foundation (Frame). Looks like 4 men could lift that body off

Thanked: 4206Still not sure if I’m going to lift off the entire tub. Will decide that after the runners and wings are removed.
Leaving them on for the initial sanding as they are held in place nicely by their hardware still so I can bear down a bit with the sander.
Most likely will pull the tub though, Only way to sandblast the frame properly."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Can you get some frame specs on that car ? It would be wise to have that car put on a frame machine to get it all measured up and square. I’ve been doing Autobody and Paint everyday of every year since 1976...

Thanked: 4206Still have the original manual.
Specs for the c/l’s for the bumper mounts will come in handy. As will the wheelbase, when she’s all stripped.
Book even shows where to put the jack to straighten a bent frame hehe.
Or where to put the big 4x4 timber to twist the frame.
Crazy details back then."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

^^^^^^^^^ gottah love that ! Looks like your in business. That frame has to be straight and true....or nothing will fit and line up properly. So many people skip this important step....then wonder why nothing fits...
