I am too Shaun. And my extent of magic is making quarter appear out of ones ear,, lol..

Got a call from Wisconsin yesterday, my front girling shocks are rebuilt and heading north after 3 months in the shop. New seals, valves, dampening oil, and adjusted rebound to account for the larger engine!
All in, after exchange, about $450 CDN for the pair, repair. Hope the postal delays due to covid don’t delay things too long.

So, front shocks on the way, I can then finish the front end. Rear hubs on the way still, then I can finish off the rear end. Metal all off and in various stages of rust/paint removal, and wood work completely disassembled and being measured, copied, and or purchased..

Looking around the cold shop is a little daunting ATM. Almost out of room to move and think this’ll be a clean and reorganize kind of day.
Worried a little about how many parts are partially done and if I have everything still sorted out in my noggin..

Cheers men, JAN is wrapping up, and hopefully Feb is short and mild.

You are doing fine, Mike. I bet you got it sorted out. A part or 3 left over is the way it should be. Lol.

What gets me are the parts made of wood. Mind blowing to me.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

My ‘dining room table’ ready for a feast!!
And to make a shave reference on this thread, I will be shaving new wood to resemble all these pieces, hehe. Then reassembling them in sections and using a product called total boat penetrating epoxy on said sections before connecting them back to the steel frame, and each other. Figure this way I will achieve improved modular strength, but still allow for some flexibility of the overall car body in relation to its main frame. Think this will be important since the car originally flexed significantly, and there in allowed for vibration mitigation. If I don’t account for some, things will crack where they used to flex..
S.s. Hardware will be used throughout the frame rebuild as well.

I’m going ash on most, as originally used, but may opt for something like mahogany on a few pieces I intend to leave visible once restored. Pieces like the rear top rail and the firewall outer frame under the engine cowls..
Still to decide as the car comes back together.
    Cheers gents..

Teak could be a nice wood choice as well, as it is naturally very rot resistant and a great looking wood. Of course yew has that same feature.

Here’s the first new section coming together. Drivers side first, of course!
Purchased new wood for these key components. Anything hidden I will try to make myself..

note the soul old piece I was able to save up top where the dash and the quarter meet.
Happy to say the jig strip, which defines the door opening, fits perfectly.. so the doors ‘should’ too.
