Well, cars booked in at the dealership for Wednesday.
Seems I’m at 3yrs and 11 months of ownership on a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty.
Hehe, here’s a happy guy. Save me some dough if they end up replacing the turbo on their dime.
Won’t be the upgraded model, but hell, I can still squeeze some jam out of the is12 unit..

Hopefully you don’t need any modules. Had a 2019 Honda CRV in the shop...and waited 4 months for an air bag module !

And was talking to the insurance appraiser....he said “ That’s nothing “ ..I have a VW at another shop, that’s been sitting for a year, waiting for a module !!

I know of 6 trucks that have been waiting 7+ months for axles. Parts are hard to get this year.

Well, it’s the turbo itself that’s pooched as per VW diagnostics.
Good news is they can get one in before Halloween and it’s under warranty!

Damn these things lose all their fun when they lose the forced boost…
Think Noddy is quicker off the line than the VW ATM.

Pretty sad...a turbo craps out in 4 years. How many miles on it ? Or Kilometers...or what ever you use up there

I am very disappointed in the lifespan of this turbo as well.
I’ve only put 62000 km’s on the car so far, like less than 40000 miles and have kept up the oil changes etc.
Quality, not what it used to be..

That's not a lot of miles. Damn. Glad you were on the ball and got it taken care of before the warranty was done. Nice Save, Mike!

I bought an app called Dashcommand by Palmers Engineering fir my iphone.
That and a generic obd2 dongle allows me to pull engine codes and run virtual gauges etc
I was able to verify lack of boost pressure before I even called VW.
It’s a great app and like $15 on the apple store these days.
    Here’s the diagnostic screen shot.

The virtual gauge selections are awesome as well.

Got the facet electronic fuel pump I ordered finally and installed and tested it tonight.
$100 but worth it compared to the two pieces of crap I tried for half the price from Amazon.
Happily, the 4-7psi range doesn’t overwhelm the Mikuni floats which was my only worry.
Now I will have reliable fuel delivery.. if only my wheels were back so I could cruise.
Feedback on them is that all four were bent, as expected, but were straighten-able.
More likely next week now though before I get them back.
