Really nice looking turnings Jerry. That zebra wood is so pretty to look at. Nice choice for a kaleidoscope.

Kaleidescopes huh? I want to watch when you try convincing the patrolman that's what those are. They sure look an awful lot like fatty-mobiles.

Now I have fo google fatty mobile. Nope, that didnt help. Enlighten me.

The kaleidoscope's are for two grandkids and one for the wife. They did turn out nice. The finish is a shine juice burned in after a laquor sealer. Ive gotten good at the CA finishes but wanted to try something else. I will see how well this holds up.

    awesome work as always Gasman.

I started a chess set today. Well, I did one pawn prototype. now to spin 16 exactly the same. I really wanted to make the set from boxwood and ebony, but the cost of that stuff is too high for a first try. So, I'm going to go with maple for the white pieces and ebonized oak for the black.

Looks good. Make a jig. It helps when making more that one. I thought about a chess set but nobody Round me plays so i gave up the idea.

Cool stuff. I like the cleaning brush idea, and the kaleidoscope are pretty cool.

When you get the chess pieces figured out I would like a really big Queen brush handle.

I like them and think they're really nicely done. Just saying that when I first saw them I did a double take. It wasn't until I read the post that I knew they weren't dope pipes. The neighbor next to our shop years ago was a smoke shop and he had a case in the window full of "tobacco utensils," that looked just like that.

    No offense intended.

I like slight differences in things. That shows they are individually made.
