Thanked: 0I collect watches too.. it's just my collection is only one watch big right now. My hobbies are too expensive...
In any case, for my 18th birthday my parents bought me a Tissot Classic Prince or for you watch buffs out there, the "banana watch"
You can see why. There's a slight curve in the casing to accomodate the curve of the wrist. Pictures don't really do much for this watch, you gotta see it in person; I love mine!
Wish it was a manual wind, but I can't complain about this being my first serious watch. I picked it out and looked around for literally a month and a half to try to find the best price online.

The watch forums are great places for secondary market watches. There are some fine Ebay sellers also. I haven't bought in a while so I forget the names.
EcoDrives are sensational watches. Tough, accurate, stylish, have whatever info you want.
Here's some of mine.
I prefer mechanical watches. Automatics. This Marathon hasn't come off my wrist in months now.
But you see I have some tritium also. Amazing how accurate the military watches are.

Thanked: 2Sorry to drag up an old thread. There was a thread here on SRP a while ago about the Omega Speedmaster that got me looking into watches. Next thing you know my razor habit looks real affordable. Here's most of the watches I've collected since earlier this year. I'm hoping to pick up a Hublot Big Bang eventually. I've got another Breitling that's not pictured.

You don't know what cheap is, mister! Try a Ruhla for size! Made in the DDR... looks good... seldom works! Love it!
I'm not a watch "consumer"... but I'm proud of my Seiko 5! It was my grandfather's watch... aparently was one of the first cynetic mechanisms that Seiko made. It has some flaws, but it looks like a watch... not a Swatch!

Swatch
Being a teenager in the eighties I had a few Swatches. I nearly forgot about them because I don't have them around anymore.
Out of curiosity, I revisited them and found the Swatch Skin. It is a very thin watch. It comes in the traditional swatchy colorful arrangements, but also in more conservative styles.
I believe that I prefer this kind over a thick and heavy one. Using it is very comfortable. It is barely there. It does not bang around on things as much as a bigger watch.
Let's see how long I can stick to this one before I go back to the bigger ones.
