For those of you interested, I just ordered this
    Heartland America: Steinhausen Chronograph Watch

Appears to be quite the bargain, listed for $300 from Steinhausen. I have been looking for a chronograph watch and don't like batteries (automatic movement ROCKS!), so this is just what I was looking for, from a brand I like (my current watch is also Steinhausen "Marquise") and a great price! Just thought I'd pass it on!

A confession: I have too many watches to count, so I don't know the number... over a hundred, I think There must be a crossover between watches and straight razors. Razors are cheaper, which is a good thing.

    Default Wataches

I have a Hamilton 992B which was about the standard railroad watch in the southeast.

My daily watch is a Luminox.

My dream watch is a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

If they still made them, would love to have an origional Zodiac Seawolf.

I have been reluctant to have it repaired because I heard once you open the watch up it will never be the same. Is it typical for a watch to lose so much time after 7 or 8 years? Would you recommend getting it fixed? Will opening the watch do more harm than good?
A mechanical must watch must be serviced approxamately every 5-7 years. Send the watch to OMEGA and they have a service (about $300) which will restore and clean your movement. It will be as good as new. It will look new too!

    Oh man. Here we go!

I'm looking at buying a Stuhrling (Amazon has a whole separate store for them...check it out). They look to be decent, yet still affordable for someone who has a REALLY hardcore hunting habit to maintain. Anybody heard of them?

I really want an automatic, and I want something more....classy. No bling. Not big. Complications are cool, but not necessary. I just don't want a freakin' lead anchor around my wrist.

    Recommendations?

I love watches but I have only a Swiss Army dual time zone. Breitling's American headquarters is a couple town to the west of me. My neighbor and dear friend does all their advertizing art. I never thought to ask her if she can get some sort of discount. Hmmm

Don't buy a stuhrling they are mostly chinese made. If you want just a good reliable watch buy a Seiko.
