    I took these photo's including the video a few days ago, Monday to be precise, myself and both my Bedlington Boys Oscar & Boris, early morning stroll in my local Thomastown Park, time 7.5am.

    I couldn't agree more. Also ditto what Mark said. I am always impressed by the quality of your pics.

    We got a bit of snow the other day and I found that Travis likes to eat it. Even when we went for a walk, ever few feet he'd scoop up a bite all the while he was still walking. Never had a dog do that but he is different in many ways.

    A bit of an update on his tail. The inflatable doughnut is working well and he's not made attempts to reach his tail, however he started to get down from his chair and his ass drug against the front padding and the bandage pulled off. So Dr Davis got him bandaged back up but now he seems to think that he's in trouble. I'll be glad when the stitches can come out and we can get on becoming best buddies.

Size: 37.4 KBWell it's a sad day at my oldest daughter's home tonight. She emailed me yesterday to let me know what was going on.

    I'd mentioned before how their two older dogs were not doing well and would need to be put to sleep. About two weeks ago my son in law's Black Lab had lost bowel control and couldn't stand so she was put down.

    Now today my daughter had her beloved Boxer put down. Here's what she posted about the event;

    When is the right time? When are they suffering? This has been such a heavy weight to carry but I believe it is time. Lucy my boxer will be 12 in a few months, that's really old for her breed.

    She has been my co-worker at my salon for 11 years, greeting customers, eating their treats and even helping me pacify 1st time haircuts with toddlers over the years. I've told some clients I believe they come to me for my dog!

    This evening is going to be hard to say goodbye to my friend, my partner. I don't want her to suffer, I feel she hurts daily from her bad back leg, she can't keep weight on and has been vomiting off and on for a week. She looks at me with sad eyes and whines.

    The tears I'm shedding are happy tears of all the great memories I have taken in with her. I want to do what's best for her because she has been the best for me.... Our vet is making a house call later today to make this even the most comfortable for her and myself. R.I.P Lucy (this picture is one of my favorites when she was in her prime, about 3 years old).

    I'd spent a lot of time with both dogs when they were out of town. In their younger days both loved to play fetch with tennis balls. With my bad shoulder I couldn't throw the balls as far as the would have liked to I made a bat out of a 2X4 that was kind of like a cricket bat and boy howdy did they love to run to get the ball back so I could hit it again.

    She wants to wait a bit but would like me to bring Travis over to see if their young Black Lab would like to play with him. She didn't want Lucy and Jewel to try since they both were so old and had so much trouble just to get around.

    Hopefully Travis will have a new playmate.

    No question one of the hardest and most heartbreaking decisions I ever had to make. Three times now and one more likely within a year. It does not get easier.

    As many have said before, we get the dogs we need. They provide so much love and we don’t always understand how much we depend on them until they leave us.

    It’s not something you can explain to someone who has never had the privilege and joy of a dog in their life.

    As some leave us, new life fills the loss. The breeder who gifted us our youngest dog, had a new litter of 13 pups.

    I have his ashes, clipping of his fur and foot prints.
    My mum and dad had a star named after him which is a lovely tribute to my boy.
