Absolute heartbreak at our house yesterday as we said goodbye to our Tobi. The time had come and it was the right thing to do, and the vet who came to our house was wonderful. But damn, this hurts.

Please give all your dogs an extra scratch today. They deserve it.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I feel for you mate, hardest thing in the world is losing man's best friend. Only time can heal, no words can commiserate.
    RIP Tobi.

    Amen and sorry Kris.
Hardest part of the bond they offer is the end.
Mark’s card captures it well. A forever bond.

It does hurt, horrendously, I've sent 2 on ahead to wait for me.
When you are ready, please consider taking another into your home. There are so many that need the love you can give.
They never replace the loss of your companion, but they do show you that your heart can open again and have the love only a dog can give.

Sorry for your loss. We had to put our dog down a couple of years ago now. Never easy even when it’s the best thing to do.

We thought we were finally ready for a new one but she is sure a handful.

Sorry for your loss. It's always hard because they are better than some people I've known and they love you unconditionally!

My condolences for your loss my friend. They truly are part of our soul.

When my now ex wife and I first started dating I had an 80 lb American Pit Bull and we'd been constant companions. I'd tell people that he was my best buddy. Well one day I'd said it and my girlfriend pulled me aside and said; "What about me"? I replied; "Show me a woman you can put a collar around their neck, then hook them to a lead, leave them outside in the elements with only a dog house for shelter for 8-10-12 hours and still be happy to see me when I get home. They don't make such a woman, only a dog".

I've had Travis out for a walk already but I'll take him again for Tobi after I post this .

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm not so good with words as all these other guys, but it sucks dude. Sorry.

Kris, I hope you and others will enjoy these. The first one I've never posted but I've posted the second one before.

    RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many splendid colors.
Just this side of Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills,
and valleys with lush, green grass.
When beloved pets die, they go to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who are maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who loved
    them on earth.
So each day they run and play.
Until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!

    The nose twitches.
    The ears are up!
    The eyes are staring.
And this one suddenly runs from the group.
    You have been seen!
And when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and again,
and you look once more more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
    Never again to be separated.
