Thread: Dogs!

Having the two new puppies that are so small I have been concerned about it for a while especially since I have seen and constantly hear them but tonight my wife was looking out at the back yard and yells out, "What in the hell?! Look at the size of this bird!" I got there just in time to see the wings as it was flying away. She described it and I showed her some pictures from Google and sure enough, as I suspected it was a great horned owl. I hear barred owls all the time which is concerning but the other night I heard a great horned in the trees right overhead. That is a bird that would not hesitate to grab a 3 lb puppy and fly off. The fact that it was bold enough to stand right near the porch after I just went inside means that that joker is hungry.

Time to get serious about the anti-raptor measures.
