Thanked: 3226A real sweetie you got there. Yea, she will be big as in St Bernard size. The boss's brother and wife raised and showed them in the early 1970s. They had a lovely temperament and were good family dogs.

Thanked: 4206St Bernard size will be awesome. Never had a big breed before, nor a pure white pup. Husky Shepherd cross, our biggest to date.
Think I best build her a dog house as I hear they like to stay outdoors more than not. And they also like to swim from what I read, so next summer she?s in for a treat when we uncover the pool again..
So far, Buddy is only growling a bit at her and we are spoiling him big time to keep him happy with the new addition.

Well met Kona. She looks like a sweet girl. Great Pyrennes are a large breed for sure. Tall as a Bernie but not as heavy bodied. Still a big breed though. I love GP's they are so even tempered and mellow as adults. Puppies are all crazy.
As a person with 5 dogs I have always been fascinated by how the addition or subtraction of a pack member affects the whole pack heirarchy. Everyone's role shifts. Many blessings to your new pack member. May she maintain a special place for all.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Thanked: 3226After having no pet in the house for a while, we got Bonnie from the Humane Society Shelter about 6 months ago. She was abandoned with another dog and cat according to them. She came spayed and she had a microchip. We took her to our vet for the remainder of her shots and had her nails clipped.
We were wondering about her genetic makeup so went to our University Paleo Lab which had testing kits and picked one up. We have sent it away and hope to get the results in a few weeks' time. We will see what breeds are in her genetic makeup as well as genetic age and possible illness/diseases she may be prone to.

Thanked: 3226Yes, sharp and alert she certainly is. Truth be told, one of the reasons we sent the test in was that we have a slight suspicion that she may have a bit of wolf in her. I suppose that might make her a good hunter. Around here there are more than enough wolves around. You never know if one snuck into the gene pool.

She has a sort of Carolina Dog look to her. My brother had one. Great dogs if you get them from a puppy. They can be a bit on the wild side if not
