The skin and coat does make me think that mastiff of some kind is in him. Like you were told, Rotty seems to be showing too or large breed lab. From this photo, I would be surprised if there is any Bull breed in his makeup.
He looks like a character to be sure and I'm sure he gets forgiven a lot All the best dogs do!! I am sure you are blessed with a great companion.

Thanked: 586I just looked through this entire thread again. Every picture shows a beautiful dog. I wanted to add a photo of my last dog, Fritz. Although he looked like a soft coated wheaton terrier, his mother was a black lab. The wheaton obviously won. I was living in a third floor walk up apartment when Fritz' heart killed him. He was down in the yard doing his business and on his way back up when I heard him stumbling on the back stairs. I opened the door just as he hit the top landing. Fritz stumbled into the kitchen, looked up at me and dropped dead at my feet. What a good dog he was. Here is Fritz, not only the best dog I ever had, he was the best dog I ever met:

A story like that Icedog will always bring a lump to my throat. Some say they are only animals and, yes they are, but we are not. This makes us appreciate them in so many ways for the short time they are with us.

Thanked: 416As some of you know Martha and I do Rescue work and I have been gone all day taking this mother and her pups up to West Virginia to a foster home. The mother was brought to a local shelter on Monday and immediately started having the pups on the nasty shelter floor. The place is run by inmates and it took 20 bucks passed to the right inmate to get them move to a clean crate. Tonight they are safe though. Its been a really good day.

What an awesome idea Icedog! I'm looking forward to seeing what the evil duo are upto now.
I had to give my dog up a few years ago, fortunately my folks are looking after her so I still get to see her a couple of times a year. She is a Shepard cross and I love her to pieces, though can't seem to find a pic at the moment.
My Bro has 2 Staffie's Reggie (Mr Kray) and Frankie.
Frank was an addoption/rescue job as his original owner didn't realise he had ingrowing eyelashes, so he got dumped at the Vets and was never picked up! It was too late to save the sight in his left eye by the time the Vet got hold of him. Poor guy is going to loose the eye alltogether in the next 6 months, but he is still a total nutter!
Reggie on the other hand is a solid tank of a wuss bag! Typical whining Staff who has to be fussed most of the time or he sulks.
And finally this brings us to Georgie, my part-share-with-a-neighbour mutt. I puppysat from the word go while my mate was at work so Spike and I are an extension of her pack. I walk her almost everyday and she can be a real pain so we're going to start re-training soon. One of the other neighbours gave her the antenna thingys, I just HAD to take a pic.

Thankyou all for sharing your wonderful hounds! They are always an utter delight.
We do not have a dog of our own right now, but Georgie, our next door neighbour's dog, is part of our family. Silver walks her most days.
I was very fortunate to grow up on my grandfather's farm with what could only be described as a pack of mastiffs. They numbered between 12 & 18 at one point. My gramdpa maintained that all mastiffs were part something else because the breed numbers got so low that other blood had to be introduced to prevent inbreeding. My father had all of them put to sleep after my grandfather passed on. One of many reasons that I do not speak to him. Those dogs were my childhood companions & better, more trustworthy friends than most humans. Tess, the head bitch, regularly used to stop me getting into trouble or pulled me out of it. Then we had another of our own, Molly, who went to the great kennel in the sky just over five years ago. I adore mastiffs & will have one as soon as we can house it
