I know you have been all waiting for this so here's the answer: from wiki
"An Armstrong gun was a uniquely designed type of rifled breech-loading field and heavy gun designed by Sir William Armstrong and manufactured in England beginning in 1855 by the Elswick Ordnance Company and the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich. Such guns involved a built-up gun construction system of a wrought-iron (later of mild steel) tube surrounded by multiple wrought-iron strengthening coils shrunk over the inner tube to keep it under compression."
It was made from a 3 pounder up to a 110 pounder, had a rifled barrel and used a projectile instead of a ball.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

As a Gooner, I can't let a mention of the Woolwich Arsenal pass without a (that's another one for you to look up Tom )
Also, whenever I think of barrels built in that way, I can't help but wonder how much trial and error went into fine-tuning their construction, and how many unwelcome explode-y surprises the had along the way.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Looks to have been something before it's time. Some noteworthy features for certain!

So I just brought home my beloved Smith and Wesson Airweight Bodyguard .38 that I loaned my mother back in the late .80's. As she had reached the point where my brother and I no longer felt it was safe for her to have it, we talked her out of it without too much argument. To be honest, I was more concerned about a mailman or delivery person getting shot than any criminal-she lives in a nice neighborhood. Anyways, the old nylon Uncle Mike's gun rug that it used to reside in is long gone, and I'm thinking about maybe getting some kind of IWB holster for occasional clip-in carry in the small of the back. Do you guys have any recommendations?
I'm even thinking about making a fancy pair of custom grips from desert ironwood or cocobolo-something like that. My brother offered me $400 for it on the spot. Then we found out that they are going for $800-1000 in the condition this one is in. I think I'm going to hold on to this classic. Now to find some ammo. There are many roads to sharp.

I found the source of that particular story, it was from the DoJ,and killings in the USA, it's on you tube, search. 22,and it take you there, I believe it was in the story of the. 22 short, and as an aside, I have a Baretta Minx in .22 short as a plinker, but after watching the video, it's better than nothing, more than I thought. At close range it does more damage than any of us would have believed.
