I looked at current. I saw Aquila for 94 cents. It's hard to find, period. 30.06 seems impossible to find.

I have an Arisaka I would like to shoot a bit. ONLY thing I can find in 7.7x58 Jap is 69 bucks for a box of 20. They have 4 boxes.
    So much for that!

I have not bought ammo in about 20 years so decided to do a web search of what the prices are like in Canada. Like everywhere else, the prices in Canada were more than sticker shock to me. Compared to what I used to pay they would gag a maggot. Yea, times have sure changed.

I stock piled thousands of rounds of 7.62x39
Bought it by the case (1300-1400 rnds.per. case, surplus military ammo) for under $250 a case. 30rnd German made magazines, $5 or less.

The rifle is made by Arsenal, in Belgium. Cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel, 16000 rnd.barrel life...just under $300.

I see its now going for $1500 & up.

And a unfired Poly tech AK 47 that my father left me, when he passed.

Other than that ammo, all my other I reload with my brother. Bout the only thing I'm kinda low on, is 22 cal.

I haven't been to the range in ages, and this is a big part of the reason why. They shut down for a while after covid hit and I guess I just dropped the habit. And now when I think of going, I hesitate because there are other things that, dollar for dollar, just give me more enjoyment. One of these days I'll go back, but I'll also be bringing a bow. At least I can re-use that ammo.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Yeah, but its like riding a bike. Bout the only difference is ya lose a bit of refinement. Easily brought outta the memory banks.

Shoot black powder rifle. Its the cheapest, and best way to keep those abilities.

    One shot....one kill.

I have been stocking 00 buck lately. I am just awestruck with the M4. It's a machine, even moreso with a specialized buckshot choke. I have challenged myself with fast reloads. Keaneau Reeves really is amazing from the videos that I have seen. Still, I practice regularly.

That was Davy Crockett's rifle from the Alamo! I didn't know people still used flintlocks to hunt with.
