I still have a box of 9mm. Wish I had the .45's too.
They would certainly be the carry round of choice.

I'm thinking of going with Underwood Xtreme Defense when I can find them. They are getting great reviews.

That's a good self defense round Pete, if you can find them. Ammo is kind of scarce right now.

Pete I think liberty ammo had theirs civil defense round in stock last week for 45 I bought 3 boxes, it’s just my carry round but it’s always good to have more. 45 with I think it’s 62 gr. Check them out Scott put me on them and man it’s a great round and taking that much weight out of my 13 round XD does make a difference

    Just looked...Out of Stock
    It's not like I don't have anything. I'm carrying .45 Federal Guard Dog's now.

I put a bid in on Gun Broker for 40 rounds of Underwood Extreme Defender
I was surprised how much ammo they had for sale.
Wait and see mode is in effect.

Guess I jumpedquick when they emailed me, if you like a certain ammo, get on the notification list.

I really don’t need much, I got plenty if the zombie apocalypse hits, and it doesn’t take too many rounds for your carry ammo, just shoot a few boxes of something that performs close, then follow up with a couple clips of your carry,

Been looking for a good month or so and finally scored 2 boxes of these Underwood Extreme Defender .45's.
Very tough to find but from what I've seen, well worth the hunt.

Nasty-looking rounds, Pete. Like a spinning screwdriver!

Like Mike said, don't need many rounds for up-close defense. Found this on a gun forum for 40 bucks shipped.
Always ran .38 special in my .357. Stepping-up for the bad guys. 2 boxes of Federal personal defense and a half-box of some Hornaday made for tubular magazines on lever guns. Little 'tit' in the middle of the Federal hollow-points for some nasty reason?
Would never find these in the stores around here.

Watched a video of a guy doing a test with these and Black Talons.

He shot from about 7 yards through 2 pieces of sheet metal spaced about 8 inches apart and then into a watermelon.
Both got through the sheet metal.
The Black Talons broke the watermelon into big chunks.
The Extreme Defenders vaporized the inside of the watermelon.

Quite impressive...I was sold after seeing that.

Yup. Says Hydra-Shok. Way the jacket is sliced I figure they bloom upon impact.
