I'm curious...

What does everyone use as their personal defense edc ammo?

I just got that Springfield XDS .45 and so far, I can't find anyone that has anything in stock.

I do have a bit of .45 ammo, so I can carry, but it's far from ideal.

Right now ammo is a tough find, but I generally carry Federal HST or Speer Gold Dot in both my 45 and 9mm carry pistols. If they make a +P version and a standard , I choose the standard. In my smaller pistols I don't like the recoil of +P.

I reload my own, Pete.

124 grn. FMJHP. 9 mm
4.5 grn. Bullseye, I believe.

500 rnds FMJ
500 rnds. FMJHP
500 rnds. that my dad reloaded back in the 80s (target ammo)

Loading accessories are becoming scarce as well.

In my 9mm with less than 4" barrels, I carry 119gr Hornady Critical defense if I carry it. If I'm not carrying it, it has 119gr FMJ. If the barrels are 4" and above, I go with 124gr Winchester FMJ (pentration) no matter if I carry or not. In my EDC .45 I carry 230gr Black Talons. There are not illegal, they just don't produce them anymore. All the rest of of .45's are equipped with 230gr FMJ from Winchester. Just my personal preference. It has to be your personal preference on what you carry.
