It's all about accuracy and shot placement, truer words were never spoke. I don't know how many 300 Win Mags were sold around here to hunters who took far too many shots to bring down a moose with lesser rounds. I bet all they got out of that was more misses being scared of the recoil and more damaged meat from from flubbed shots that landed.

Bob, the most popular choice calibre rifle in the UK for larger game such as Red Deer or Wild Boar is the 243.

Anybody else used iTarget Pro? Dry fire practice using a “laser round” you put in your gun and dry fire at a paper target while an app on your smartphone keeps track of where the bullet would have hit the target. I’m going to have to get mine out and try it with my Hellcat.

I should have mentioned that I was referring to calibres used here locally for Moose where various magnum calibres such as the 300 Win mag are popular. Lots of Moose are still taken by lesser calibres though as are smaller members of the deer family. A lot still depends on the distance at which you take game and your ability for precise shot placement at that distance.

Ooops, I guess I did mention Moose. Morning coffee has kicked in yet.

I read somewhere once that more people have been killed by. 22 than any other caliber, don't know if it's true but possible. Your right, shot placement is key.

Yes, the .22 cal. is considered a very lethal round for two reasons.

    Hypervelocity
    Ricochet

It has a tendency to change direction, once it contacts bone.

My new concealed carry is the Hellcat (as previously mentioned), but after being playing around with my wife’s S&W M&P EZ, I’m kinda wishing I had one.

this is same way I treat my shaving soaps/creams
If I purchased guns and ammo like I purchase soaps, I would be able to arm a small army.

I know someone who would be on the news for a federal investigation if people found out how many guns and rounds he had stockpiled.
