Yep tryed one myself, it’s is comfortable, with a small frame, but as you said, not tactical. If your in a hostage situation I guess you have to wait to pull. In a gun fight I’ll stick with my OWB holster Bianchi forward slant on my hip. I can get my shoulder rig into play quick too. Nelson it really is confusing like you said but carry the right permit and your good, personally I like open, I never tryed to hide mine even before we could here in Tennessee. Keep my 45 in plain site so there’s no question as to my thought process.
Glen I got me a cross draw holster for my 45 and I’m really getting used to it. For driving and sitting it’s really comfortable. And I believe some of the fast draw guys of old were quick with it too
Got one of these on suggestions from Tom , and Pete they were right, stick it in your front pocket in your shorts, it’s accessible and very concealedLast edited by tcrideshd; 10-23-2021 at 10:19 PM.

Thanked: 13245Legally you must be a State Resident in most CC States not all, ie: here in Idaho a legal state resident that can federally own a weapon can carry a weapon PERIOD... But if a Washington or Montana resident is traveling in Idaho they don't have that right, they must have a RECIPRICOL permit. Most people that want to CCW get a permit, as it eliminates all questions once you know the reciprocating states.
For myself my Idaho CCW covers my trips to Colorado as all the states accept it.
We also no longer have to even do an Insta-Check to purchase a new Weapon, I just flash my CCW and I am good to buy..
I know this seems confusing but honestly every one that carries tends to study the laws, there are really not many carry issues considering the amount of weapons on hips
The Federal Form is quite clear about who can purchase and own a weapon BATF-4473 form, if you read that it is quite clear, that those federal laws a seldom enforced is another issue but they are on the books..
Interesting Stat: As a Monolithic Group US citizens that hold a CCW permit are the most Law Abiding group in the country, more law abiding than Police and Congress"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

The short answer Steve is that it depends on the state. I'm sure that Canada is somewhat the same but even though we are one nation we are a nation of affiliated states That are somewhat sovereign in their own right and have their own rules. In the state of Florida you cannot open carry., At least as far as firearms go. I carry a knife on my belt and you can open carry a knife without a permit. If you stick it in your pocket it has to fall within a very narrow set of rules which is quite convoluted or have a carry permit.
I have mixed emotions about not having open carry. In Florida there are a lot and I mean a LOT of crazies. I have heard it reasonably argued that open carry can be provocative. In most sane states I would say that's nonsense but the same rules do not apply to nutcases. Personally I would rather open carry but the laws are what they are and the reason why I carry a knife with a 6-in blade on my belt is for that added visual deterrent. I keep a 9 mm subcompact in my front pocket but I would rather someone see an open carry and think better of making me pull a weapon they don't know I have. God willing I will never have to use it. There have been a couple of times where I was afraid I was going to have to And I was glad I had one but prayed I didn't have to pull it. That changes your life forever once you draw. And once you draw you had better be prepared to use. Not that it is like a samurai sword where it's the rule that you have to use it if it's drawn but you don't ever want to bluff in those situations.
The NRA has good information on what is legal and what is not. It's been a while since I looked at their site but as I recall they have a lot of resources to draw from. You are best advised to thoroughly study the laws though because what's true in one state is not true in another and some permits are great in one state but don't reciprocate to another.
EDIT: for the sake of clarification, In Florida you can carry a fixed blade open with no limit to blade length, in fact you can carry a machete or a sword on your belt. Once it is either concealed which includes a jacket covering it or folds or goes into the handle like an out the front then you have to have a concealed carry permit if it is more than I think 3 in long or a multi-tool. The knife laws in Florida are really really confusing.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 10-25-2021 at 09:40 PM.

Thanked: 3224The Province of Ontario has dropped the renewal fee for licence plate tags retro to 2 years ago. I got my refund and it more than paid for my 5 year renewal of my Federal gun permit. One giveth away and one taketh away. Got to love this country especially when the Provincial Government appears to being trying to pay for my vote in 2 months. What a world!

Thanked: 4206Hasn't the federal governing party been doing that for the last two + years? You make it sound almost unique or unscrupulous that we are getting a rebate from the provincial coffers. Just like CTV news does..
I’m delighted they have scrapped the sticker, cop cars computers know as you drive by them now if you are licensed, legal, and insured by OCR’ing your plate so all it was was a tax drain and no longer relevant identifier. A very progressive decision to get rid of them IMO.
My new plates will look much nicer once I peel off all the old stickers!
They COULD have just done away with the stickers, going forward, without rebates but realized with some paying yearly and others opting for two year stickers there would be complaints so they went back 2 years for those that pay that way to cover everyone, and avoid complaints and critique.
But lo and behold, people still complain, and critique.
Indeed what a world Bob."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 3224Yes, I understand fully why they did it.
I don't care what level of government appears to be trying to buy my vote as there ain't no such thing as a gift horse from any level of government.
I will be more impressed when the main highway across Canada finally gets 4 laned from the Soo to the Manitoba border and everyone in Ontario pays the same per liter of gasoline. I doubt I'll live to see that.

I got gas yeserday too in Leamington = $1.67 per liter Regular, $1.99 for Diesel.
That makes regular $7.52 rounded up a gallon (4.5 liters to the gallon), bear in mind that a Canadian gallon is larger than a US (3.8 liters) one so a car will go further on a Canadian Gallon.Last edited by STF; 04-14-2022 at 10:10 AM.
