Thanked: 227I do like the 1911. But as most may be aware handguns are massively restricted here in the UK.
However when my FAC is sorted I can get a 1911 chambered for .22 with a brace and long barrel extension, which essentially makes it a rifles length.

The stock. I've seen and done loads of .22 conversions as the ammo is much cheaper.

All 1911s are not 45ACP. A 10mm Gold Cup Delta Elite. Only made with the blue finish in 1991, a Browning 22LR, and a recent 'stainless' Colt Government Model, also in 10mm. The caliber Jeff Cooper helped to develop.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Here is my most recent ground up build. I fitted 2 BarStow barrels to it. 1 in .38Super, used mainly for USPSA and 1 in 9mm for IDPA.
Stealth Arms 80% frame
BarStow fully ramped bull barrel(s)
Caspain custom slide
Internals by Ed Brown, Wilson, EGW.
All 100% gunsmith fit parts...NO "Drop-In" .
The .38Super barrel shoots 1 1/2" groups @ 50yrds. And the 9mm holds 2" @ 50. (Shot off a ransom rest and my reloads.

Not an expert or even a gun owner, but of the small selection of things I shot, I preferred Lynn's 8" (iirc) barrel 44 magnum.
