We really need to set a goal for crossing the 50% threshold.

If that is indeed a "fact" (not saying it's not, just that there are lots of spurious facts and quotes floating around the internet) it is due in large part to the fact that we can.

My guess is that you would probably have to go to a war zone to find more firearms per capita than in the US.

Course it's a fact, if Google say's it, it must be true.

Actually I didn't get it from the internet. Border Security on Telly, not as reliable as the internet but it's a reality show about US Customs so probably quite reliable .

Not a comment on gun control just a statistic that I found interesting.

    Here is the real stat

Law abiding citizens in the US have more guns and ammo than ALL the Militaries and all Law Enforcement agencies in the world combined

Hunters in just 3 EASTERN states make up more men under arms than all the Armies in the world combined.

I would like to see your source for that Glen, I don't necessarily doubt you but, are you saying that in just 3 Eastern States there is more men under arms that Russia, North Korea, China, India, Great Britain, even the US military combined and those are just the big ones. North Korea has millions, every man and woman has to do National service.

First bring up the numbers of Military in the world today start with Wiki you can dive deeper if you want

Then search number of hunting licenses by state

The info is easy to find, IIRC they used PA, VT and one other for the stat and it is Active Duty not civilians corps
Also this is only big game stats, they don't include small game only hunters , but most small game hunters are usually big game hunters too
