    You can do it yourself with a file if you want to modify your slide stop. Here’s a link to the 1911 forum with some photos of the mod.

    No pictures in that link, but I know there are supposed to be good videos. I may eventually try it myself or call Springfield and see if they can send me a better slide stop that has the correct groove in it.

    its not a real bad mark anyway, he'll I got more finish rubbed off from my holster, but it is my carry, it's not a presentation piece. Tc

    Primarily Norwegian moose, and if I go back up to Svalbard, polar bear protection. Hopefully hunting trips to Alaska and Africa in a few years.

    Wilson’s bullet proof slide releases have the detent in them, a little pricey but extremely good parts.

    Yeah, I would DEFINITELY prefer getting mine fixed. I really don't want to pay $60 to replace a brand new part. Thanks for the link.
