Great golfing companion.
I heard a lot about the vintage 1990 but I never tried it before. Any suggestion about witch whisky I should drink with it? I need to choose between this two nice ladies
Cheers

Casa Fernandez Lancero, 7 1/2 x 40.
"...Arsenio Ramos, who once worked for Cubatabaco and always seems to have a cigar crammed in his jaw, calls his Casa Fernandez “a man’s cigar.” It’s a nearly flawless lancero fitted with a dark oily wrapper and pigtail cap and characterized by gutsy, powerful notes of hickory and chocolate on the palate."
Interesting cigars with a great flavor.

Just an FYI
I picked up that Bolivar at JR's Cigars in April
The cello was golden yellow so I'm guessing well aged
It was a great smoke for pretty cheap :)
One of the best this weekend

I will lie if I say that the RP was a wonderfull experience, but it's not a bad cigar, just to smooth and creamy for me! More Cappuccino than strong Espresso!
I prefer Ramon Allones, vegueros, partagas, which are more stronger!
Concerning the whisky, I choose the chivas and lagavulin 16 years. Personally the liquorice taste of lagavulin was passing better with the mild Test of the RP.
The Yamazaki 18 is the best japanese Whisky that I tried! And the older.
It's also a very complex's one. You get notes of green fruit on a nose, but develop sherry taste on the palate :) you should definitely try it!
I had an AB Mediano a few days back.
It's expensive, but holy guacamole, was it smooth.
I was even a bit light headed when I stood up after it was over.
Cheap Nat Sherman while driving from St. Louis to Columbia last night. For the $2 I spent not a bad cigar at all.
Me and my baby girl...

Lit up this puppy on the first hole. She tunneled a bit, but she responded to correction. A lovely smoke. Strong - but balanced.
Lasted long enough to be washed down with a beer after 9 :).

On a hot/humid day - this beer is heaven!!
I can never seem to throw out the tins I get my small cigars in.
Don't know what I am going to do with them all - but after breaking the little clay pot my Bonsai starter kit came with, I found a use for one of them lol.
Threw a rock in it and called it good.

Not sure why I thought I would share that lol...

Ok, having never smoked a candella before, I can only really say that it makes me want another. You can definately taste the wrapper although it is ONLY the wrapper that is green. It is otherwise a Black Market. Not much different other than the wrapper taste blended in. The Candella has an interesting flavor mild and grassy but leaves a nice taste on the lip.
I enjoyed a different flavor but think I would search it out in another brand.

Outside chores done, siding on the house fixed. Time to relax. Partagas Serie D no.4.
Watching the rain fall.

Just starting out, but so far a La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Magnifico and now a Padron 1926 Serie Maduro #9. This is as fine a cigar as I've had. I need to get a second job!
Montecristo no.2 and Jim Beam tonite.

Been AFK for a bit...
Saturday on the way to do some chores, a new (to me) Alec Bradley offering in a Toro, 'The Lineage':

Great stick indeed!
After the chores were done, I tried a stick from Cuba, great price point as well, Vegueros:

For a cheap Cuban, not bad at all. I'd guess that aging in the humi would be a definite benefit.
For the commute this morning...a tried and true La Reloba from My Father (apologies for using a potato that won't focus. At all.):
Attachment 176555
Man...I love this stick!!!!
Just had to pick up some cheap cigars from the liquor store (Cuba Libre??). I've been switching to e-cigarettes from cigars and went swimming in the ocean in Fort Lauderdale yesterday. Guess what I left in my pocket...
My Cigar Monger gave me another freebie to try, a Namakubi with an Ecuador wrapper:

In a word, 'complex'.
Definitely a stronger cigar, but not harsh...not quite harsh.
I would think a good length of aging in one's humi would definitely mellow it out a bit, however, could run the risk of the ruining the contrast between the subtle sweetness and bold strength.
For the record, I wouldn't call this one out for a casual smoke, not at all. This should be reserved for after a rare 1" thick rib eye replete with a fine Cab Sav...enjoyed in hand with a very fine single malt, say...Glenrothes...or Laphroaig.
Just my $0.02 is all
Just finished a Cuban Diplomaticos No 2 here on a cooler day than we have had in a couple of months.
+1.
That said with respect to the stick losing its complexity if it rested a bit... Wouldn't you think it would just become more balanced but keep its complexity? Just asking - maybe hoping. Bad cigars lose thier complexity - good ones balance I think lol. Maybe we are saying the same thing?
Anyway... Had my mainstay today :).

Got to tell you, I forgot something in the office so I went back after lighting it. Once inside the office I got held up - Arg. By the time I got back to the car I had to relight. I wasn't hoping for too much but seriously, the thing didn't miss a beat!
Yay :)
Perfectly opined!
Totally possible as well, I was simply pontificating on a possibility. One would think quality will stand the test of time...properly stored of course!
If you catch a quality stick shortly after it's fizzle, a quick blow through and relight should have zero negative impact...DPG consistently puts out great sticks!Quote:

Two words for you, 'La Reloba'.
Cheers!
Had a Pinar del Rio Reserva Limitada for the commute this morning, good stick indeed.

While I haven't had a whole helluva lot of PDRs, the one's I've had have never failed to provide an enjoyable smoke.
I have come to love this cigar. So much so, I rummaged through a couple humis to find this one!
Going to take a drive now. Hope it treats me right. :)
