A very well seasoned Romeo y Juliet robusta anniversario and a classic martini to celebrate hump day!

Just over two weeks till the GTA GTG!
Trying to split my time between work, an engine conversion on an older sports car, and realizing summers days are already getting shorter!!!
Cheers gents!
Savor the flavor.
A friend went to Cuba and brought a few sticks back for me...unfortunately they were left in a plastic bag in his house for a long while...*cringe*
When I got my hands on them, I slowly brought them back as they were dried out; unfortunately this No. 2 was a bit flaky.

The the foot was cracked (holding it with my thumb) and the cap on the point was barely hanging on. When I clipped it it essentially fell off leaving only the binder, the ring was the only thing stopping it from unwinding!!
Despite all this it was still a great smoke, as to be expected by this most fantastic vitola!
I smoked this Inka Secret Blend - Rojo Red - Tres Petit Corona whilst walking the dog last week. A good value stick at just under £5.

Yesterday I tried an Alec Bradley - Black Market Punk, another enjoyable smoke.
Cain Habano 550, 5 3/4 x 50.
"Oily and rich in appearance, this toasty cigar is nutty and leathery with a spicy finish".

So far a La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Magnifico, a Padron 1926 #9 and now an A.J. Fernandez Pinolero Maduro Churchill.
Another Don Pepin Garcia Original Blu Lable. Total toast.
Guantanamera Crystalis
These are pretty cheap cigars that still have a nice Cuban aroma and flavor without breaking the bank :)

If you ever want to have some fun with a cheap cigar...
Get some coffee beans and give em some moisture. Put the beans in a Tupperware container and rig a way to place a couple of cigars above them without getting wet. Open the container now and again so as to ensure it doesn't get too damp - in a month or so give em a smoke.
I gave it a shot on some freebies I got and... Yum!!
Not a bad little smoke... But, well, I am quite sure they are either old as sin, or were stored poorly at the vendors. My first clue was the cellophane fell apart really easy! The wrapper is a touch to brittle/discolored, and the smoke a touch too biting.
Well - I guess we know why they were on sale now lol. That said - it was still a decent smoke and far from unsalvageable. It'll just take a while.

A glas of ice tea and a Esplendido from 2002 in the garden (and I'm pretty set there, nothing to do at the moment) = :D

The HdM le Roi's are gone. Sniff.
I have moved on to the HdM du Dauphins. Sunday was a double-up day. My pipes are glaring at me.
Toughski breakski, pipes. It's summer.
Uh, La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Magnifico, Nestor Miranda Gran Riserva 2012, La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Robusto, and now a Padron 1926 #9
Monte Petite #2 Habana. Very nice!
Thanks Bob!
Partagas P2.
Oliva yesterday for the commute, and a Brickhouse for this morning.
One thing I've noticed with the Brickhouse, a purge halfway through and then 2/3 through really improves the stick, just my $0.02 of course.
Cain F Habano 550, 5 3/4 x 50.
"Solidly rolled with a dark, oily wrapper. It’s a medium-bodied smoke full of nutty, woody flavors and sweet touches of nutmeg and butterscotch".

Waiting for a fire to get hot enough to boil the water you need for your morning coffee... Isn't as painful when you have a cigar to keep you company lol.

Life is good today :).
Nice moments Earcutter! I had a very nice moment/time with one of my oldest and best friends yesterday evening. We had a lovely dinner and a couple of Punch DCs after, then we had to visit the latest robusto box, Juan Lopes no 2 and it actually stod up good and on it's own against the Punch. One of those great cigar moments!
Smoking a cigar with freinds has to rank as one of life's greatest pleasures.
Since I have had kids, finding the time to seek a freind out and kill a couple of hours, is really hard come by. That said, I have discovered that finding some solitude with oneself to sit back and enjoy a cigar can truly be a pleasure as well.
This morning as the wife and kids went for one last swim before leaving the campground - me, myself, and I enjoyed this Blue. As I did, I think I came to a few conclusions that have been haunting me lately. :)

Here was that Kristoff a little later in the eavening :).

Cain Maduro Straight Ligero for the commute this morning.
Good cigar, however I'd take the Camacho Triple Maduro any day of the week over the Cain.
Attachment 173662
I have only tried a couple of Ligero cigars
Most recently the LFD
I find them a touch strong for me but they seem to be great tobacco
Rookies huh?
I learned to love the ligero back when I was smoking cigs. They had the "ump" I craved.
When I gave up on the smokes, I began to see em as powerhouses too - so I only smoked them after having had smoked a cigar previous.
For some reason lately, I am really enjoying them. To be smoked/enjoyed slowly for sure - but man some are real yummy. That Kristoff for example - yum. Another one that I have come to love is 601 la bomba. Yum lol!!
Just don't smoke quickly :).
Drew Estates
Undercrown Robusto

It was verrrrry smoky, slight pepper, pretty tasty but not really complex at all. I did smoke it to the nub if that means anything to ya :)
cheers bud :beer1:
I was with you yardie - didn't much care for them either right off. But I am telling you, these things age well!! Very well :).
The 5" is my favorite.
It means to me at least, that now and again, complexity can be excused if your loving on the taste - come to think of it... I think that's how I ended up dating a lover of mine for so long lol! Sure she was one dimensional, but it was a lovely dimension for a year or two :).
I was given a 'bundled' cigar by my Monger to try out, it was a 'Batey'.
Can't find a whole helluva lot of information on this particular brand...however from what I could glean from the interwebz it appears to be a Canadian produced stick.
At ~$5.00 a stick, one can't really expect too much, right...? That being said it by no means a horrible stick either...I dare say it's much better than a 'Quorum' and pretty much on par with a 'Dominica'.
Would I take this over a Monte #2 or a DR RyJ Piramide...? @#$% no.
Attachment 173960
I smoked one a year ago a Batey Casa 6" x 40
I thought it needed to be aged a while more.
Seemed like it had maybe a chance of being more than it was.
Mike
Just opened the foil wrapper on a box of 5 year old R&J Cazadores and am looking forward to a treat in a couple of hours. : )
