Happy 4th all!
Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva. Very good cigar but a bit milder than I normally prefer.
HdM le Roi, at the beach with my son. Hurricane gone and fun remains.
About a year or so ago, they were all the rage. I bought a bunch in different sizes thinking they had to be good!
I hated them off the truck.
As I rooted around in my humi today, I ran across this particular one. Recalling the one I smoked a couple of months ago wasn't that bad - I thought I would hit it up.
This one was good! Real good. Didn't burn worth a damd, but it taisted great!!
I don't know... But I think this is a cigar that likes some rest.
Tatuaje Fausto. Starts with a blast of pepper and spice, which I really like, but it is not an early morning smoke.
Not bad.

Long Friday at work, felt sluggish and not excited to go home and spend an hour working out. Said "forget this!" Grabbed the wife and went down for dinner at a local Italian place, came home and had a nice glass of wine and a fine NC...

I'll go take a picture - brb.

hot day in the back yard enjoying memories of Cuba!
Love the hat too :)
Mike
Really??
Truthfully I'm not aware of any CAO that I've tried as being substandard, always been happy with all of their offerings.
Wait...scratch that.
I believe it was a Maduro box press that I wasn't all that jazzed about...but then again I'm not a big fan of box presses at all.
I don't have all my notes on me but the other one I do have (going back a year) is the CAO OSA Sol
wasn't a fan :(
Maybe I need to open my repertoire a bit and try some other ones :)
Thanks, maybe I'll pick up some of their other offerings
Mike
I've had a handful of these Gurkhas and have yet to be disappointed!
Sat night fire pit after...good times!

Jaime Garcia Riserva Especial "Limited Edition". As good as Nicaraguans get, and that ain't bad.
Just reading through my notes, RYJ larger rings, La Aroma de Cuba Belicoso, Partagas and H upman and of course Cohiba seem to be my current favorites. I also liked the Onyx Belicoso/Torpedo and my last Arturo in larger rings.
50-54 Ring seems to be my size range as i find 60's don't draw the way I'd like them and most I've found are a bit milder lacking the more intense flavor of their smaller brethern. Just my observations so far. I have only been smoking cigars for maybe 2 or 3 years so I have a lot more to try :)
Mike
Its funny. I got quite a bit of utility writing a cigar journal. Lately however, I have noted that it took away from the experience - so I stopped. Not sure why really.
Which reminds me:
I'll never forget my 9th grade teacher who asked me once, "If you stop to reflect or exclaim how great the ice cream you are eating is... Are you still enjoying it?"
I guess here lately my answer would have to be no. :)
Padron 1926 Serie #1

While an enjoyable smoke, it wasn't as impressive as the MC One.
Still have a few aging, will come back to them in a while
Tried a Cult (Original Series) for the ride in this morning, all in all it was an enjoyable smoke.
