You know Yardie, that's kind of funny. I had to think about it, but I don't think I have had one I didn't enjoy either. They are a kind of work horse brand lol!

Dang that looks good!! Why did I stop here before bed!? Now all I want is THAT stick lol!
It'll be a restless night me thinks lol... Sigh.
I finally got round to smoking that Tatuaja Petit Cazadores Reserva. Very pleasant little cigar. Quite spicy, switching between chili spice and black pepper spice. Also quite earthy in different ways, occasional hints of leather and savoury herbs. The draw got tighter and tighter for the first two thirds and there was tar oozing out of the end after a while. When i got to the last third the spice suddenly disappeared and I started getting some really nice deep earthy flavours and something like burnt steak. The last bit tasted really nice so when it was getting too small to smoke I pushed it into my long clay pipe. I was getting some interesting medicinal flavours and some sweetness and the very last draw before it went out was very distinct milk chocolate. I dug about a quarter of an inch of it out of the bowl when it was done.

I'm not sure what the english cigar etiquette is regarding jamming the nub into a pipe, but I suspect it's regarded as ridiculous. :)
Dry boxing a Don Pepin JJ Beli. For after work tonight. Have had a couple boxes for 5 years resting. Let's see what time and a long sleep did to them!
Currently enjoying a monte 2 from 07' in celebration of my first shave last night! Chocolate and cocoa and just goodness.
My cigar monger gave me a freebie yesterday, a Room 101 Master Collection One (Papi Chulo)...had it on the ride into work.
Zero criticism for this stick, fans of the Daruma (manah) will undoubtedly enjoy this one...if I had criticism for this stick was it was too small (= length of time to enjoy was drastically reduced).
Going to see if he can't get them in my preferred size, being the 'Monstro' (5 x 60).
Solid smoke, bold yet sweet with complex flavours, zero harshness.
Yeah, it will have a home in my humi alright.
Don't mind the dodgy pic...and yes, that is from this morning alright, 'Springtime' my arse.

At this rate I'll be able to get my bike on the road...lets say...around late June/early July.
Smoked an amazing cigar today, before easter dinner with ma - a LE 2001 Cohiba Piramid, what a smoke! Maybe alittle heavy after a light lunch, but totaly worth it. Not many left now, but they're getting better for every year (at least two yrs since I smoked one though).

The Cigar Cave, Palm Harbor Fl.
This has become my second home. I'd be there every day if I could keep from going broke....lol
This has to be my favorite of all time. I actually got to sit at home and smoke it with a glass of dark rum while dinner cooked on the grill.Attachment 163849
I'll have to check out the 'Widow Maker' for sure then.
I've tried the 'Seduction' a few different times...just wasn't impressed in the least.
Attachment 163938
Had the Liga after dinner with a nice cup of coffee.
The sad part of the Widow Maker is that when the brothers decided to sell the company, the Widow Maker became an "on line" cigar. Now it seems that it can only be gotten on line and only in packs of 5 and 10. The only singles that I've been able to find have been in samplers.
Possibly, one of the smallest Cuban cigars.
H. Upmann Half Corona, 3½ x 44.
Interesting cigar, but really very(!) small.

These are few and far between for me, but Lord are they good...
Hard to go wrong with an Opus X!
I picked up a 'Between the Lines' from their Hemmingway series, going to let it sit in the humi for quite the while. I just hope I don't have it too over-hyped in my head when the time comes to enjoy it!

Had another Perdomo on the way into work this morning, a Reserve Champagne Noir...
Again, stock photo:
Attachment 164067
Started off with medium pepper but not obnoxious, wasn't exactly blowing my head straight back...but when it hit the beginning of the second 3rd it really began to shine with leather and cocoa, the last third blew me away with hints of honey.
Very easy draw, ash was slightly flaky, slightly uneven burn but either it corrected itself and/or my purge helped.
Again, a fantastic offering once from Perdomo...I'll be getting more of these!!
Yardie, I think that you'll be fine with the "Between the lines". I enjoy them and my best friend is a freak for them.

Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial.
It's not the first time I've noticed that these cigars out of boxes are more interesting and tastier than in tubes.
Nice cigars.

Lol... Well just to check in, I'll have you all know I am still smoking one a day if I can but... I am working on boxes now and trying to dwindle down my humi for some more variety.
Which of course makes photos redundant - but its great hearing about what you are smoking!!

Had a Room 101 Ltd Conjura Edition LTDC on the way into work this morning.
I've had a number of box presses in the past and I have to say I'm not really a huge fan of them, the ergonomics (me and my banana grabbers) is incredibly off putting.
This one had some burn issues that needed a few touch ups to correct, and the ash...to say it was flaky is a gross understatement. It looked like a volcano went off in my Jeep and deposited ash everywhere.
While it wasn't a horrible smoke, the negatives were just too much and ultimately I have to say I wasn't a fan of this one.
It won't be finding a home in my humis.
Gurkha Rogue Ruthless for this morning's commute.
Ironically, this is a box press as well...wasn't really paying much attention at 0445hrs when I plucked it out of the humi.
Faintly sweet aromatic prelight aroma had me optimistic, very easy draw (re: too easy) however it wasn't anywhere near as flaky as the Room 101 Ltd Conjura Edition LTDC from yesterday. It didn't keep it's box press shape for very long after lighting it, whether that is due to loose filling or my not so delicate banana grabbers manhandling it I'm not sure. The first 1/3 of it was rather one dimensional with faint cedar/very mild spice tones...it didn't really come into it's own until the 1/2 way point; then it started to shine. Pleasant aromatic smoke with a definite sweetness, steady even burn, ash held but it wasn't exactly tight. Final 1/3 was a definite pleaser as it all came together.
Gurkha, IMHO, runs the gamut from excellent to disappointing; however I'm happy to say this one was definitely of the later. Still have 2 more of these that I'm happy to know aren't going to be a disappointment.
Limited edition, 10 yrs old now (means VR turns 25 this year :-)). Nice flavours, not a powerhouse in any way, but that's good news, since I only had a sallad for lunch :D

I had this little chap yesterday.
Attachment 165355
It's the biggest cigar I've had. I ordered a robusto, but got this monster instead. It was nice, but the draw was very light. I used a guillotine cutter and I think I ended up with too big an opening at the end on account of the massive ring guage. Maybe a punch would have been a better choice for a cigar this size. It tasted good, but I noticed the flavour didn't develop as much as the corona size I've had before. The ash was interesting. It held on into the last third and I only knocked it off when the cigar went out. I couldn't relight it so I sliced up the butt and added it to my cigar butt pipe blend, which is smelling pungent to say the least. I'm beginning to reconsider the cigar butt blend. It's not so much maturing in the jar as festering.
