Suday Afternoon recovery smoke
My Fathers - Flor de las Antillas
5" x 50 Robusto
It was not what I expected truthfully, I thought it would be better.
It reminded me very much of a Romeo y Julieta #3 taste wise.
It was a good cigar mind you, I just expected more and was hoping for a richer more fermented flavour.
Cheers fellas

Well keeping with the theme
Working on some stuff in the garage and decided to light up the Flor de Los Antillas. Flakey ash on it and isn't holding on, oh well... Seems okay so far im only about a third in and nothing is standing out so far .... Clouds of smoke and great draw though which I love. I have 2 more that ill keep in my humidor for a while see how they are In a few months.

I've heard excellent things about the Liga Privada t-52 , also the same line the no.9 , unico and the "my Uzi weighs a ton" basically anything by Drew Estate has nothing but great reviews. I've been told they're hard to get in Canada though.
Yardie are you a member on CCF ( Canadian Cigar Forum) ?

Seems the Flor de las Antillas is making it's rounds!
Had one on the way into work this morning, and while I enjoyed it very much I dare say I prefer the My Father No 3 (or 4). They both have a fantastic draw, but I find the No 3/4 to have more complex flavours; I found the FdlA to have the same flaky ash as well however it didn't fall off easy (good thing).
I tried the My Uzi Weighs a Ton (twice)and it was quite enjoyable, however I felt it was pricier than it should have been. Much like the Quesada Q d'etat Molotov (and Howitzer), a great stick but far from wallet friendly.
Where (approx) is home Rick? There is a place in Sherwood Park (Alberta) that has a fantastic selection of sticks...PM inbound.
I received a PM a while ago from another cigar afficionado on CGN, I just signed up now!

Thanked: 1185Elitists will certainly scoff but my stogie du jour is the much maligned Phillies Titan. To me at least, this is the cigar equivalent of Prince Albert or Granger pipe tobacco. Phillies Titans are machine made and not very expensive but but like PA and Granger, what they lack in wow factor they more than make up for in just consistently good, serviceable smokes. Don't get me wrong, it's no La Aroma de Cuba, Brickhouse or Montecristo but it will provide an enjoyable smoke just the same and I can smoke several a day without completely breaking the bank.
Surely I'm not the only one who has marveled at the utilitarian goodness of the Phillies Titan, am I? Where the hell is Devil Pup when you need him?Last edited by 1OldGI; 08-22-2013 at 07:09 PM.

LOL!! Cigar smoking is as personal endeavor my friend and one that is only corrupted by concerning yourself with what others smoke. Once you understand your pallet... if a $0.75 stick gives you as much pleasure as a $12.00 one, who cares?!
It's always about the time you spend with the cigar...
And that leads me to my point - at least you are smoking a cigar lol!! My humidor has been sorely "underfunded" as of late! But I have a couple of shipments coming. Moreover, I plan on a few more to get it up to par. But in the mean-time, what I have spent in cigars "for me" has been a small fortune and I am doing the old salt test to make sure these baby's aren't abused when they come .
I can't wait!!David

GI- haven't smoked a Philly but I'm turned off by the paper wrapper. I'd rather smoke a cheap mixed filler cigar with a leaf binder and wrapper.
That being said, you should smoke what you like.

Currently smoking a Perdomo Limited Oscuro Churchill. I don't think they've made these in a few years, but I'm in pretty decent shape with seven boxes left. I'd buy more if I could find them, but I'm a cigar pig.
