This past weekend I had my first Drew Estate - Undercrown Robusto (picture #1) , by golly was it tasty. So tasty I had a chance to buy 10 locally from a BOTL so I jumped on em. Tonite having another Undercrown this time a gran toro (picture #3) gifted for a friend out west.

I got inspired by rickmccarey and decided to make a little fire and enjoy a nice cigar tonight.

Buddy smokes Diesel's religiously; so I decided to buy a five pack and give em a shot. Called the "Shorty," it has a pleasing look and smell. Tightly packed. I looked forward to it.

I figure if I am going to kill an hour or so... might as well watch a little Longmire while I was at it !!

I kept waiting for the "Full Body" this smoke was supposed to have, but it didn't come. I finally gave up waiting and aided the taste with a little "liquid aid."

All said and done, the smoke is purely a mild to med-mild if you ask me. When I gave into that - it was fun if a little boring. Moreover, the burn was awful, and I was forced to touch it up a couple times (to be fair its really humid out tonight). But the draw and smoke was awesome.

All in all, I'll pull one out now and again 4 more times, but will not buy any more.

It was still a great hour and twenty though...

That's somewhat dissapointing , I've been looking to try a diesel. Maybe it was a dud? Could they get better with age in the humi you think? I guess you have 4 more to find out!

Nice fire and a smoke really plays a hand in a cigar I think. Setting to me is half the fun and can make a mediocre cigar more memorable to me IMO.

Yeah the fire really did make it fun lol. Being alone, it also make it a little introspective lol... spooky !

If your going to give the Diesel a try and like a full body, I would maybe try the "Unlimited??" I am sure the poor burn had more to do with it being humid out and my initial over-smoking as I looked for body lol.
