I think break in is one of those personal things... It seems as if there is etiquette and then there is the real world
I am also like you, very infrequent, but I have lots of choices when it comes time...
If I stopped buying tobacco as of today (that will never happen), I have enough that my grandchildren will be sorting through it when I die...
Same with pipes, some smoked, most unsmoked but I sure do like looking at them...Last edited by NoseWarmer; 04-09-2016 at 01:17 AM. Reason: Spelling/Wrong Word
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

Thanked: 1160I guess I was lucky with all my pipes in terms of break in ,I just smoked 'em with whatever tobacco I bought and was gentle enough with them that they all have a decent cake now. Sip and rest is my motto. I started out on sweet aromatics though and I suppose after enough tongue bite and gurgling you learn.

It isn't what we take from life that makes us rich but rather what we give back to life that enriches our lives.

Thanked: 101Another mini cob full of "Nougat" trying to get going for the day. Have to change the oil in my truck & wife's van. Also on the agenda is stacking firewood for the "burn pile", go to the dump, zero my son's single shot .22 for squirrel issues. Soon....
