This far i've only smoked aromatics indoors (and only when it is too cold to smoke outside and when i'm too lazy to get to my garage/workshop) but that is going to change soon.

Now as my daughter moved away to live on her own, i decided to use her room as my smoking lounge. All i have to do is to change new wallpapers and make a new floor, and find an old sofa somewhere. I will make the desks and cabinets etc of birch or pinewood next summer. A real man cave. Final frontier like they say in Star Trek.

It didn't start very well. I was having a pub evening with my work mates from the ship i serve one Saturday evening and got home about 02.30 am. My wife and son were already sleeping and even the dogs didn't make any noise. For some reason i wanted to smoke some Bracken Flakes at my new lounge. Upon lighting my pipe i launched fire alarm as well I do not know which one made the worse noise: my wife or the fire alarm

    Tomi,

Pipe and cigar smoking in the house was a very large bone of contention between my wife and me. Until, my very generous brother-in-law gifted me with an ionic air scrubber. I would suggest one for every "man cave". In my opinion it is the ultimate smoker's accessory. The cost is less than the price of one nice pipe. The "peace" factor with the wife is priceless.

    Best,
    Jimbo

This is a good idea. I've been thinking about getting some kind of air purifier, but still have to find more info about different models & techniques used. They seem to be a bit pricey here, but i think they surely are worth it. For cleaner air, but also to avoid unnecessary noise pollution that comes from both fire alarm and my wife

Now as the time has passed it sounds funny, but at the moment it happened, word "funny" wasn't the first in my mind. Luckily the lady calms down pretty fast usually.

A Dunhill and then some Gumbo! That's what I call a great evening.
