    BTW:
Friday is the most important and holiest day in the year for our Jewish friends...Yom Kippur

    In 1973 (october 6th) startet the Yom-Kippur-war.
In honoring the brave Israeli soldiers I postet an article with videos (in English) at the Jerusalem-blog.
These are interesting videos for people, who are interested in military history:

...and now the Russians are coming again...
    Thomas, you scare me.
    Have I missed something?
I'm very far from politics. I know about political developments only when any conflict begin in the Middle East, and the army wants me.

    You are most welcome.
There are still many beautiful buildings and churches left from the time of being the Grand Duchy of Finland 1809-1917. Mostly in Helsinki, but some here in Turku also. Orthodox church from 1838 is in the center of the city. In the SW archipelago and the southern coastline there's a chain of fortresses built by russian troops. On these islands there's also interesting stone roads built by Japanese POW's during Russo-Japanese war at 1904-05. Besides these roads are usually old graveyards of those POW's. They surely got far from home, just to suffer and die here in a strange land. Near my home there's still remains of the old Russian artillery stations from the times of the Crimean war, and several remains of anti-air stations from the last international athletics between Finland and Russia.
Ain't history interesting. It is so easy to see that when emperors, czars and presidents make bad decisions, it's common people that has to suffer the consequences.
In a world scale, our cities are really small. Nature is beautiful, specially up north. Here in the south it is just forest after forest (after forest).
And not to get totally off topic, there's 3 tobacco shops in the whole country. 2 in Helsinki, 1 here in Turku (since 1926).

Anyways. here's my afternoon pipe. JF Germain & Son: 1820 from Nanna Ivarsson aka "Stanna".
I'm sure that if you gents can imagine the smell of the motorcycle boot after iron butt race, then you can imagine the tin aroma of this tobacco. But the taste is something different. Smokey and delicious. The best there is to offer from the distant Latakian Governorate. I can easily imagine beautiful and mysterious Latakian ladies gathering this fine tobacco, with a secret promise in their dark eyes.

Sailor that truly is a lovely pipe. Gentlemen while I'm at college in just about the middle of the States (Columbia, Missouri), but I will hopefully be studying in Dublin this summer for around a month and a half. On a pipe note, my bronchitis has taken a turn for the better and is starting to clear, so soon I will be able to enjoy a pipe again.
