Thanked: 1185Post-Run Smoke (I must be suggesting something about the duality of man)
Prep: 3 mile run (without heart attack)
Pipe: Butt Ugly No-Name Rhodesian
Tobacco: Cornell and Diehl Old Joe Krantz
This is without question the ugliest pipe I own. Coincidentally one of the best smokers too.

Thanked: 31I see Dave has the same nosewarmer or something similar as a regular offering as a custom. Perhaps inspired by you?
I recently got a MM Eaton for carrying around and a quick smoke. I don't like the way it smokes so far (only had about 7 smokes with it). It doesn't seem to allow the full flavor of the toabacco to come through like my other MM's. Maybe it's the small bowl size or maybe it will eventually break in better.
That nosewarmer you have looks like it started as an MM Washington (which I have and it smokes very well). Perhaps I'll have to try Dave's nosewarmer for a carry around if the Eaton doesn't cut it soon....
I thought the Eaton wasn't as good a smoke because of the short stem. It's good to know that a shorter pipe like yours smokes well, now I know length has little to do with it. Thanks.

"A customer, Phil McCall, asked me to make this little ‘Nose Warmer’. At first I thought he’d slipped a cog. Was I ever wrong! This pipe is CUTE! It’s compact, but still a full size bowl for a great smoke. It is made using a Washington Corn Cob bowl and a special cut Vulcanite fish tail stem with the distinctive ‘Forever’ Stem Dot."
Yes I am the one that "Slipped a cog"... And yes it is a Washington... The MM Washington's are the best smoking cob that I have.... However, I think that all the filtered cobs (even if you don't use a filter) smoke the best...
I think the Eaton may restrict the flow with the smaller bowl, bit, shank and so on...
My take on the stem length... I had a 4.75" Semi-Warden and it smoked English blends GREAT... My NW, it smokes Aromatics great to... But again with the shorter stem/shank the smoke will be a lot hotter than a long stem/shankLast edited by NoseWarmer; 11-01-2011 at 12:09 AM.
