Friday evening, end of the work week.
Tonight it's Special Latakia Flake from Lorenzo Monte Rosa. Together with lager from local micro brewery.
We do not celebrate Halloween in my country, but around these times there has been very old celebration named Kekri. I have no idea of it's origins or what it is for but the name means 'ending (of something)'. I've read that in the past it was common that people used to build huge goats made of straw and then burn it. In some parts of the country some folks still do. I've seen such goats for few times in our archipelago, but i've never seen people burning them. I have no idea why they want to spent their time and efforts building these things and then burn it down. Not the kind of celebration for a lazy man like me.
This all has nothing to do with pipe smoking; just got the idea as i saw this bottle. Excellent beer it was.

Thanked: 983Halloween, as the Americans call it, is an old Pagan belief that the veil between the world of the living and dead is thinnest, allowing for the spirit world to enter the world of the living for a short period. The pagans offer a sacrifice in the form of special cakes and alcohol like wine, whiskey or mead, to appease them. Perhaps the burning of an effigy in the form of a goat may be something similar. Goats and the horned god, Cernunnos, are linked, and as such, the christians based their satan image on Cernunnos in his goat form.
Just some useless information for you.
