That "divit" could be causing troubles... Take it back and see what they say... If you are worried about a loose stem, use some bee's wax on the tenon, that will help too...

The stem is not loose at all from what I can tell. Just worried that there is not a 100% tight seal. Not sure I can return it as I have smoked out of it a few times. I usually notice stuff like this, but I'm not sure how I overlooked this.

That's so cool.I just took up occasional pipe smoking again.I too like the small size as it allows me a little more freedom and comfort.i.e not having a long ol pipe hanging low on my lip as it were.I smoked my corn cob for the first time today.I like the coolness of it.My first corn cob ever.I may start being a fan.How much was yer custom? And how long do thsy last usually with moderate use ??

Take it back, I think the dealer will give you a new one. If not, put the dealer into the bowl.

After that use paste car wax or better yet Tripoli with a Dremel with buffer head. If you don't have a Dremel use a clean cotton cloth. After this it will really shine!
I've cleaned and refurbished pipes for some time and that's a good way to get the crud off. Also Dunhill makes a small tube of bowl wax to buff the shine back into any bowl.
hey gunner going to use the sandblaster on the bowl and try to do the sand blast finish on the wood not the stem. i watched a video of a pipe maker doing it. looks easy.

Tom, what do you think of the Peterson Irish Whiskey? How does it compare to Sunset Breeze?

I'm tempted to pick up another pipe (probably a Vauen) and a couple more tobaccos..! Let the PAD and TAD begin!
