Quite amount of goodies. Guess that'll keep you going for a long time. Congrats!
Bad news (probably, i'm afraid): few days ago there was an announcement in one of those Nordic pipe sites that Capstan will change it's manufacturer. This will (again, probably) mean that in the future it wont be the same #1 as it has been for years.
So, today i hurried to the local tobacco shop and bought what there was left: only 6 tins. All the rest were gone. It's also sold out for the most European online shops i've recently checked. There seems to be sort of a hoarding going on in Europe.
Luckily i had already some amount of Capstan tins cellared but for now on it won't be my everyday tobacco no more until i get sure that the quality or taste wont change with the new manufacturer.
All 'new' Capstans will probably come out with new tin but i have no idea how does it look, yet.
However, i hope it's just a rumor.
Last time we were in Spain, about 4 years ago, Capstan was about 3,5 € on side alleys, far and away from tourist areas. Here it costs about 9 €/tin.

Thanked: 1185Definitely a man's smoke. Therein lies it's attraction as far as I'm concerned, it's border line harsh but at the same time quite enjoyable, kinda like me . It seemed a bit harsh when I first tried it but it will definitely grow on you. I have a bowl of OJK almost daily on my way to work and generally at least another bowl or two during the day. It was probably my late great friend Bob Runowski's best work. Joe Krantz (I believe the real spelling was Kranz) was his maternal grandfather. He once told me the story of how when he first blended the tobacco, he knew right away it would be something his grandfather would enjoy. So the name was only natural. You see Joe Krantz was an almost constant pipe smoker and preferred uberstout burlies that were all the rage back in the golden era of American pipe smoking. I sure miss Bob, he was an absolute icon to the pipe smoking world and one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. I was indeed proud to call him my friend. PS: It's 25% Perique and yes, many times the recommended daily allowance for vitamin N
