Bjarne-pipes often are "one of a kind" and expensive.
I favorize Stanwell, Vauen, Les Wood, Jirsa.

I've really been looking at the Jirsa and Vauen pipes!! A couple of the Petersons look like they might end up in my home as well. Next week, I get to go to the big city to have my cast removed, huzzah!! I'm thinking of stopping in the pipe shop while down there and laying hands on some different brands and models. Pictures are great, but I'm a hands on kinda guy. Don't tell them I'm not intending to buy from them!! I just want to see how different styles feel to me, their prices are higher than a cat's back! I'd like to thank you guys for pointing me towards some of the online outlets. I can now get tobacco for half the cost compared to there. Right now though, I think I'll cruse over to check out the Jirsa site to see what's new!!

Cool!! The cutty was in use again today, I really like that one, I notice I'm more drawn to the smaller pipes. Go right ahead and let him know I love them! I'd like to get another pipe of his, something like a slightly bent billiard?? Anyhow, I'll take a couple pictures of the poker and email them to you, as I mentioned, it's quite a bit darker on the other side. You know where the cracks are? Well, they're pretty much black now. The dark fades as it gets to the other side. I'm still learning that pipe, by the time I get down to the last third or quarter, it's like the remaining tobacco has been roasted too much. Am I packing it wrong??

I'll let a pro answer the packing question... As of right now, he has three on eBay up for auction... I say you should get all three

Yeah..you got me liking those Stanwells(Specially that Christmas Bent pipe) My JIRSA I'm liking too. It was originally a Latakia pipe, but I've turned it into my Virgina Pipe (No Ghosting at all I add ) Works great. Gonna be a good woodsy pipe . I've said it before as wierd as it seems, My Viking rustic bent with the nickel ferrule is currently my favorite pipe,it just feels like an old favorite friend ??

You should get a smoking glove like they did in the old days to smoke them meers. Not only would it reduce the darkening but you would look like awesome while smoking it. Be sure to wear your tweed though, full herringbone would do nicely.
